I love foraging. I like living off the land, I like the theme of cooking things in the night on a campfire you crafted from kindling you found, making a salad of tubers, ants and worms. Lets talk about some cool things you can forage, because the only things I know of are salts east of Allanak and the ruins of old Tuluk containing those bulbous roots you can drink from. Whether its profitable, rare, or just plain cool, if you can forage it, I wanna hear about it. Newbie-friendly tips are also appreciated. The scavenger subguild is the only thing that kept me from ever having to join the Byn.

I don't have a proper list on hand, but there's more than just the sacs that can be foraged for water. I believe there's at least one root, and some sort of bulb or tuber that can be crafted into a drinkable item.

Unfortunately, can't remember the name of the root either but it can be crafted into a watery pulp which you can drink. Yum Yum! There's lots of neat little things people can forage up, sandhoppers, thornwood beetles, centipedes.

It would be kind of cool for someone to put together a complete list of all forage items for each forage type. I might start on that, next time I play a grebber.

a woody white bulb, I believe.
that you can craft into a wad of pulp and pour or drink water out of.
afaik, you cannot craft an ocotillo bulb into anything like that, @vorpalbunny.

Also, you have to have a decent cooking skill to craft the bulb, high apprentice or low journeyman, I believe.

Is there any readily foragable water source near Allanak? I've make the watery pulp before, but I actually never realized they came with water -in- them. I viewed them as a way to make a makeshift water skin, like a sponge. Thats pretty cool.

You don't need to worry about foraging it up.

Also, any of the places that are written as having crops growing if there are still any outside and south of the merchant's gate. You can find root sacs there, or could, at least, before the volcano got moved. No idea how the southlands is since then.

A great deal of magickers already are, and about 15% or more of the player population is a ranger at any given time, so I don't expect much change, frankly.
