Alright, my character has been searching for a while for where you get feathers.. He can't find them anywhere but verrin hawks. Where the fuck do you find feathers?

You csn buy them. Either tribal market in Tuluk, or Kadius store in Allanak.
You can kill verrin hawks, vestrics, buzzards, vultures, greth ... there is probably more, but it's not coming to mind right now.
With a good skinning skill, you can get something like 4-6 feathers per animal, so the need for feathers wanes very quickly.
