I feel like all RPI's are doomed to eventually become this way.. Am sad. I wish I could code.. I want my own MUD..

I also remove my support from SD. I loved it, and it exploded with players, got really, really fun for a short time then....

I don't know. Shit stopped being fun. I tried several different PC's, ran into severe Staff ass chewing for things that were fine just a couple months before, but changed with the addition of new staff, and old staff quitting. And I mean things like, asking for help to build up a plot that i already had about 5 pc's following me on.

I still have hope for Johnny, and Slither (if slither hasn't gave up again) But they need to stop, look at shit 2 years ago, and look at shit now and say "Why was it more fun then" and fix it.

One of the major problems I feel was the implement of the "Sex" code that gives you a minor bump in stats temporarilly. It was a reward for people that spend all day doing sex rp. And more and more people started spending time in there apartments, fucking, rather then real RP.

At one point there was intrigue, fighting between economic classes, and corporations, and between rival gangs, all at the same time. So a smart, or savvy pc could use 2 against the others, and gain influence (or die a horrible horrible death trying)

Now, everyone are friends, even across gangs and shit. I will go back in like 6 months, and see if they fix anything, but I'de avoid it for now.

Right now I'm probably the first person to come down hard on SD since they took several hundred dollars from me but won't even let me play now, but this is kinda sorta totally untrue. Your char got permed by player initiated actions after you spent months abusing the coded mechanics to get away with breaking the IC theme and logic on a daily basis (different games call it different things, but take your pick of powergaming, metagaming, twinking, cheating, or poor RP). I know because I was 'in the loop' as they would say, for the actions leading up to your char getting permed. Your char was only even powerful in the first place because you cozied up to a powerful admin-alt char for a while.

SD is shit now, but you got killed before it became shit, because you relied too much on that admin-alt protecting you admin-side from IC consequences for your behavior.

One thing I will add though is be careful paying for any 'permanent' benefits, because they're only as 'permanent' as the staffs' whims. I technically have a residence that is, according to SD, permanently owned by me and every future char I would ever have. But the day after I was banned for an OOC disagreement with the new staff (as my other posts may show, I don't take no shit), the residence was made inaccessible even to other players who stayed there.

So what? Because I had a pack of NPC's follow me around? Because it's completely unrealistic or themely for me to have some members of -my- gang to follow -me- around for my own protection so I don't get ganked by 10 gang members that decided to come after me. Even when the -admin- were the ones -hinting- at me to keep NPCs around me at all times since it would be dumb for a gang leader to be walking the streets alone with a 50,000 chy bounty.
