Not worth anyones time to play this game. A shadow of its former self. Its no longer fun nor interesting. I resigned and withdraw my support from it.

Yeah, been playing this quite a bit lately. It has a heap of well written code and is extremely pretty. Dat syntax though.

I think I used to play Sindome back in the day.
Is that the one where you could buy vehicles? I seem to remember spending all my starting coin on an RV, and using it to run over NPCs, get out, loot, get back in drive a few blocks, and ram another.
If so, I have fond memories of GTA: Sindome....

I would play Sindome a lot more if it weren't for the crazy logout system. When you log out you're still present in the world and if your apartment rent runs out, you're dumped on the street for everyone to rob you at their leisure. It gets tiring having to log in to deliver crates just so you can afford a room for a day or two, then having to do it again, and you're in the middle of some real life shit.
With that said, I will give this game another chance when I have more time to play. The atmosphere of the city is great and it has potential.

Wow, so there are som SD players here? Sweet. A while back I got burned out on Arm, and quit. So naturally I needed a new RPI to get my fix from, and that's where sindome came in. As a brand new player the staff didn't know, I worked my way up from a fat little hacker, to a high powered executive spreading plots, and RP. And I did it all with staff interaction, and making the right choices. (That's right, i play that fat executive you guys love to hate on) So what do I have to say about SD? The staff are amazing. They work hard, constantly puppeting to move plots along, make plots, or helping players make there own plots. If you work hard, you can pretty much do anything you want. Want to make your own street gang? Get a couple pc's and work on recruiting npc's, and claim a block. You want to start your own company, and try to become rich? Think up something that would make money. Want to work as a wage slave, using back alley deals and espionage to move up the ranks and become a high powered executive? Figure that one out yourself, I wont tell you how to do what I did . But you get the point. And how the descriptions are done is great, in my opinion. Bad sides? Yeah, there are some bad sides. IE: there are times when you NEED staff to do something, but one isn't available. So you end up waiting for a while. That can suck. But it has gotten a lot better, as they brought on at least 2 new GM's to help run things. And, as long as it's not something you need RIGHT NOW, you can just leave a note for staff, and they WILL get back to you pretty swiftly. If someone deserves a permenant death, this can be difficult to do. And staff wont help perm someone. (Short of bribing some people to 'look the other way' or something like that) even if you should, realisticlly, be able to pull it off with NPC's that would be loyal to you.(unless the player agrees to be permed) This point is both good, and bad. Take it how you want, really. On one hand, it keeps power players from being able to perm opposition, just for being opposition. On the other, some rivals earn there shallow grave. The syntax has a steep learning curve. But once you get it, you get it. Not everything is fully coded. For example. Hacking is LARGELY done with staff assistance, and rigging only JUST got coded. That being said. Staff are coding constantly. In closing: Want to play a game where you can litterally have the freedom to play what you want, not wait 24 hours to get a pc approved, only to have it not get approved because you misspelled muscle? Well, no approval needed to play SD. There is a history approval, used for getting work from NPC's. But I knew a player that actively refused to do one, and decided to play an 'illigal immigrant' type deal. They are still in the mix somewhere, being awesome. I don't recomend this though, as a background gives staff something to work with. So try out SD, if you want to try something new. And definately try it, if you love cyberpunk. Edit: Oh, I want to add, SD has plenty of players now. You wont ever be the only person online anymore, even if you play European times. Granted, you might not have 35-40 people on at 4 am EST. but you will have several people in each area, and staff.

I really want to like this game but I have no idea what the fuck is going on with it. No idea how and where to find people, the layout confuses me, and the syntax is pretty obtuse. Yeah.

Personally I think Sindome should bump clones up in price or make it so you have to be of X rank within a corporation to be worth the effort of cloning. Then I think they should overhaul their ridiculous economy.
edit - Also if you remove cloning for the plebeians make UE come at 1.5x or 2.0x rate.

Perming someone by destroying them on a core level sounds way more like a thing I'd be into. I dig the slow satisfaction of watching your enemies becoming aware of their impending ruin...
... am I a sociopath?
Naaaaaaah.

Teah, i just got around to reading the other thread. So apparently the staff just write your characters into plots now? And decide what your role will be based on their needs and not your chatactr's own motives?

I played a pretty bad ass character on Sindome ti they permed her for being too powerful. Because I wasn't doing what they wanted exactly they decided to ppwerplay their way to my characters demise.
