I always hear folks describing room distances outside the cities as leagues which has always confused me. A league is roughly 3 miles, a mile is roughly 1800 yards, the average bow couldn't fire farther than 250 yards. That would be equivalent to archers firing their arrows across an entire city. Zalanthans must be super humans! Albeit, its a fantasy game so we can throw science out the window but when did folks settle on calling rooms leagues?

This is one of those things that people simply choose to look past. How 'else' are you going to describe rooms and locations?

I don't think a league = 3 miles in the game. They explain it like this. In cities the rooms are like 100 feet. Outside the rooms are like a mile or so give or take. Maybe less. Meh it's kind of just one of those things.

The code is just there to support roleplay. So when the roleplay calls for ranged combat, you can imagine that rooms are appropriately sized within the effective range of a bow. When the roleplay calls for epic treks through the wastes, you can imagine that rooms are desolate expanses of dunes to traverse. There is no precise, consistent size for rooms because Arm isn't a simulation, it's an imagination game. What's right is what you imagine that makes sense and helps you roleplay.

The players settled on calling the outdoor rooms a league, IC, a while back. This is basically a type of shorthand to make it easier to relate distances to people IC. Same with "a week", IC, being a RL day. Even though it actually isn't that close to being correct.
I don't think I've ever seen the rooms given a hard distance from staff. The coded game doesn't reflect the entire game world, and some times things are put in (or taken out) for playability.
