Does anybody remember the Pearl debacle?
Here is how I remember it please correct me if any of these “facts” are wrong or misrepresenting anything.
Pearl was resurrected a total of (2) or (3) times? The first was a legit subdue/kill and the staff apparently resurrected her because a bug was taken advantage of to kill her. This is ironic considering the bug had been around for many years and had been used on many players characters especially by high-strength muls/half-giants/dwarves. None of us were ever given resurrection because of it.
Pearl was the players first PC. She was given preferential treatment by Sanvean because she was a female player that was new and was taken under Sanveans “wing” if you will. This is spotty to me and I have always respected Sanvean but from what I understand she did this with many of the female players that she liked and got along with.
Pearl was given her own merchant house “Terash” (her last name), and the estate still exists in game. This is also known as the Atrium. Pearl was given an atrocious amount of things over her 2-3 RL years played. She never left Allanak and remember this was her FIRST PC on Arm. Her description was something about having hair to her ankles or some such. The player to me was never even that good of a player, but received tons of support (see previous statements about San).
They wanted to resurrect Pearl on her 3rd death but instead they brought her on staff around this time after only one PC. This is also when Pearl created the northern Templar Eunoli. After NEVER having played in Tuluk by the way. She was given her Lirathan. She was also Naiona on staff around this time. I am not sure if she was staff before Eunoli or after but I know for a fact she was Naiona during her time as Eunoli and that she fucked my PC Argyle over hard along with Halaster/Plainsman. This is why I quit the mud when I did in 03-04 and have only been back in random spurts to play with close RL friends. This wound has never healed for me and probably never will.
Have I missed anything here? This was about 9-10 years ago? So my memory is a bit spotty. Please clarify/correct as desired.
