Anaiah said something interesting about magickal weapons. They just go with offense and defense and I guess not weapons skills like normal weapons.

This means that basically anyone going against magickal weapons cannot parry or defend very well against them, right? Similar to someone going against someone against advanced weapons against a warrior without having knowledge of them, correct? From other threads we know that all character can get 100% offense and defense. Therefore a mage wielding weapons and good defensive spells on them, might possible out melee a warrior? Then again, disarm?

I wonder if increased defense helps with magickal armors worn or used (stoneskin, armor of wind, etc etc)? Magickal shields are also awesome all on their own but even if the skill is capped low on mages I wonder if they will still block normally once in a while?

I'm not so sure it's true, but I cannot know for sure. I've seen a delf ranger with two drov scimitars kill dujats in one/two rounds on a regular basis. But then again, even with regular weapon dujats go down in ... 4 rounds at that ranger's level of skill?

Unfortunately with mages. They are either off/def untrained so their weapons are really no help to them, except to remove the def penalty for not wielding weapons. Or they 'are' trained and they're decimating everyone except the very very skilled.

In short. This is one question that's difficult to answer, because on early stages it's irrelevant, and on later stages it's very much irrelevant.

Anaiah might've been speaking about whips. The elkrosian magick weapon. I do believe whips are a subset of slashing weapons, but there is an individual proeffeciency for whips. So it's potentially possible that they would work a lot better against trained people who never encountered whips.
