I just found out that if you are disarmed in combat, and -palm- your weapon off the ground successfully you can pick it up without giving your opponent a free attack. Kind of useful, you don't give your foe an opening.

Oooh, now that is cool. I love the little things in the code, that make sense, if you did things as sort of made sense would work out for you. But, we rarely think they will work so we do not do them.
Good catch.

Sounds kind of like exploiting the code to me... I like it. It sounds more like it's intentional to be honest..

I think it has to do with how the code is written - there's probably a hook on the get command that triggers an extra attack from an opponent when used. It was probably overlooked and not added to palm. It sounds like it could be ICly reasonable and intentional but I doubt it is.

I'm almost 100% this is normal, I was sparring with staff when I found it and told them my observations. They didn't comment further on it, but mentioned it was 'neat'

It doesn't make that much of a difference. The likelyhood that this will save you is nil if someone is beating your ass to begin with.

Pretty sure it's because the opponant doesn't actually SEE you grab the weapon. Just like if you do
Bash
(you miss the bash)
Get weapon
Ep weapon
You wont trigger an extra attack either.
