There will be so many staff members they can take turns playing. They can alternate playing and staffing on odd/even days. (You know because they'll need a player base to justify having staff members)

I want to say 'You should be making your own fun' but largely 'making your own fun' requires access to meta resources you just can't make. I even think I did account for this when I created this character. It was a dwarf with a focus of "become notorious and feared in Allanak." You shouldn't need staff's assistance with that. However, even if you don't need staff's help, they'll still find ways to make it impossible for you to accomplish your goals. That's just how they roll. When I first entered the game and saw the absurd stats I'd rolled, I figured I should probably join the Byn for a while in order to skill up in a safe environment. As is usually the case when I join the Byn, I lasted about two weeks before I had to get out of there. My sergeant at the time (Oz) suggested that I go join the Masterless, and I did that. It was applicable to my dwarven focus as the Masterless had a reputation for liberating Allanaki slaves and generally being anti-establishment and whatnot. When I got there, the place had a decent amount of players but didn't seem to be doing a whole lot. I joined them, and for the next two months, the only thing of any note that happened to this clan was when we ambushed Bebop's templar, and that only happened because staff hadn't lifted a finger to do anything for our RPT wherein we meant to ambush a caravan of slaves bound for the copper mine. Since staff had done nothing to make sure there would be any caravan, we loitered on the road until anyone came by, and it happened to be Bebop's templar. But dialing it back a bit, about two weeks after I'd joined the Masterless, I went into Allanak and mugged an NPC. Didn't kill it, just knocked it out and took its stuff. I sold some of those items, and some of them had House insignia on them. I hadn't really thought about that until I logged in the next day and some invisible staff member started berating me for it. "We expect more realism from you in the future," they said, and made my character perma-wanted in Allanak. Well, that's certainly a way to completely destroy my dwarven focus. I can vaguely see that selling stuff with House insignia on it in the bazaar isn't something you should do, but retroactively making me perma-wanted for it is... extreme, to put it mildly. Felt very vindictive. It wasn't even a doorguard or anything, just a random NPC on a rooftop that happened to be part of a clan. I didn't take a key or anything like that. I then spent an in-game year with the Masterless, doing nothing at all except sparring and jerking off. When a year had passed, I sent in a request to have the wanted flag removed, and Halaster obliged. I was once more able to enter Allanak. I did so, and in an attempt to create a plot and further my dwarven focus, I went and mugged an NPC noble in order to sell its signet ring to the Guild. It seemed like a good way to get the word out that my character was a scoundrel, and to "become notorious and feared in Allanak." I successfully mugged (and didn't kill) the NPC and took its ring, but it turned out that I was once again permanently wanted. And yet again, I had not been caught doing anything, nor had I targeted any PCs. When I contacted staff about it, they pretty much told me that if I didn't want to be perma-wanted, I shouldn't have attacked people, and basically, fuck off and stop bothering us. So I quit the game, and I actually think that will have been the last time I played. It simply isn't a good game anymore.

tbh it's pretty embarrassing to see some of those returning names. Of the six returners I can recognize Ath and Enthemu as at least former friends of Shalooonsh. They should be made to give an answer on what they think about all this shit.
But with seven new staff, and players leaving in droves, Arm is getting closer to the coveted 1:1 player:staff ratio. Finally, players will have their own personal staff member to cook and clean for them while they neglect their children and pets to play Arm for 12 hours a day.

What I know is that Ath is JustAnotherGuy on the forums and Agent137 is another one. Discord kind of gave that away.

Fine concept...basic foci that you could work at, develop, and then grow...but what a fucking boring result. Barely even sounds IC for your dwarf to have the wanted flag put on them. Now, if you played into being a plaything for someone maybe you would've received more support...but you tried to make your own fun and create RP opportunities that could've pulled in multiple clans from the guild, the aod, the masterless, or even the byn or any other sort of indie. ...and you were trying to do city RP when they are trying to get people in cities... ... ... ... Sounds like you did a great job but fuck you because fuck you. Right?

What I know is that last time I played in the Guild, we asked for a key to a door and Ath was incapable of presenting us with an answer for two months. We then had to assume that the answer was no, and that Ath is a useless staff member.

It's crazy to me that this game has 22 staff members: 3 producers, 2 additional staff, a web developer, and 16 clan staff. Going by weekly logins and assuming that staff only log into their staff accounts, this game has 139 players. Maybe it's easy for abusers to get in because the game insists on having 1 staff member for every 6-7 players??

And with twenty-two swinging dicks ostensibly working on the game, they cannot accomplish the most basic goal: make it worth logging in. Make it so that there are things happening in the game. Make it vaguely interesting. Players, if presented with these hooks, can then run with them and turn them into plots. Not if they're hamfistedly stopped from doing so, granted, such as... perma-wanted flags, Halaster, thank you very much--but still, the point stands that you can do so much by simply letting players express themselves inside of a framework of lore. Unfortunately, ArmagedddonMUD has long been staffed by people who were too insecure, vulnerable and frightened to allow any such thing.

It's deeply disappointing to see Obtutus back on the staff team. His name is ForearmedLurker on the r/MUD subreddit, and over the last few years, he played a major role in deflecting all sorts of complaints about Armageddon, especially pertaining to things related to sexual harassment and abuse. If staff are going to take complaints about sexual harassment seriously, hiring the person doing hatchet jobs on Reddit for the last few years against people complaining about the likes of Shalooonsh is not a very promising start.

This is hilarious. Instead of the leadership taking responsibility, cleaning house and doing what is right they are somehow doing the worst thing you could do which is just bringing back a bunch of old staffers. I'm a very optimistic person but I won't waste my time with this anymore.
You have to truly marvel at the level of incompetence we're seeing here. Instead of firing the bad staff (there is more than just 1) they've had one "voluntarily" step down. I think someone else already mentioned how spineless that is. Oh well I think I'm done with this shit show for now it was fun while it lasted.
Anyone else invested in it, or having hope I salute you. I'd wish the staff over there good luck but they wouldn't know what to do with it if they got any.
PS: If anyone starts an RPI in the next year you'll have a good chance at success I'd wager.
