So yeah...I'm drunkendwarf on the GDB too. I could give two shits if they ban my account at this point - haven't played since October of last year, had all 7 karma points stripped I think last month when I exploded on the facebook group and called Nyr a prick. Still makes me giggle I got to publicly call him a prick...but I digress.
Played that mud from around 1992 until 2012. Nyr and Adhira finally killed it for me. I really didn't play in clans the entire time, except for a few characters here and there. Played a dwarf named Dargan for four RL years that wound up in the Sun legions. Even managed to get the stump promoted to sergeant. That would be the only memorable character anyone here may know about in the last decade - the rest were quiet independents.
Anyway, I have an ASSLOAD of docs on that mud (skill/spell trees, detailed help files/observations for the spells of several classes, poisons, maps, etc etc). Where can I put this stuff? I'm not going back to that place. If they expect me to come crawling back to 0 karma after it took me ten fucking years to get up to 7 karma, they can suck it.

Welcome!
I'm sorry to hear about your experiences however as you will see on this forum, you are not alone at least.
As for the skill trees and such, if you could just copy/paste on separate threads that is enough, we have some categories here so placing them anywhere close is fine. Maybe they will be organized and moved later or used to update the wiki someday.
Good to have you here though and look forward to hearing any stories!

Post threads here with it copy and pasted, upload it to the wiki, etc. The log dump is for random misc text dumps that people felt like putting up.

And shortly after that thread, I logged onto my account to check my karma and saw I had been stripped of all of it. The thread references from 6 to 5 karma - I was stripped from 7 to 6 karma for something else not long before.

So here's my final email:
And Adhira's awesome response to the email:
And the amusing thing....shortly after my email, they started doing plots again.

The character in question here was a Whiran/Outdoorsman. And she was a fucking killing machine. I believe this character was one, if not the main, reasons that whirans were jacked up in karma. I saw the potential of this combination, and I realized that potential. I could have fucking slaughtered people with this character - but what kind of fun does that bring players? I did PK, but I averaged about one PK a month, for 6 months. And staff progressively started breathing down my fucking neck with this character. I had 7 karma at the point I made this character, and I never felt less trusted by staff the entire time I played that mud. They did not trust me at all to do anything and were constantly yelling at me. I was actually chided for my "kill rate" with this character....for one PK a month. I let so many people go...mostly I killed the complete douchebags that acted like they were way too super badass to be scared of some unseen voice with the power to teleport them across the fucking Known. The ones that responded awesomely...I let them live, and would send in kudos about it. It literally got to the point where I was specifically told that I could not do anything at all, to anyone anywhere without prior approval from staff. I was banned from messing with people unless I had wished up and received a response from staff clearing me to do so. It was an awesome way to be treated when I had 7 karma points. And like I said...I think I killed 7 PC's in 6 months. And so it eventually led up to the email above where I was fucking sick of it. I had filed more than one staff complaint. Staff complaints are a complete fucking joke, if you've never filed one. Here's a response to one I filed about Nyr, from Nessalin: At one point I literally requested anyone other than Nyr handle my character reports/communication. That request went completely ignored - guess who addressed my next character report? I could post email after email from staff, but it only proves things it seems like most people on here already know: - Never post anything that could even remotely be considered critical of staff. It will be immediately silenced, and you'll have the GDB regulars pull Nyr's cock out of their mouth just long enough to tell you to stop whining.
- Never disagree with staff, or you'll get on their bad side. Once on their bad side, there doesn't really seem to be any way to get back - even if they assure you there is.
- If you want to get karma/play roles/be trusted, you must also insert Nyr's cock into your mouth.

Running this site has soured me even more on Arm staff. There's so much effort put into punishing and policing the playerbase rather than creating new content or fun experiences. Staff actively read this board and try to put people to accounts so that they can be punished for avoiding the shitheap that is the GDB. Discussing things negatively in a public forum leads to karma being set to 0. I've never seen any other MUD so focused on enforcing the most arbitrary of standards on its playerbase.

Welcome! I'm sure we've run into each other before. Enjoy being free of the bullshit my friend it's a great feeling that I have had for the past 8 years or so since my perm ban.

Hate to be a dick but it was pretty obvious that Mae and Dargan were collaborating to some degree. Even if it was just innocently while living together in RL.
Also secondly, big changes were actually occuring in and around tuluk toward the latter days of Dargan. You weren't super active though, so it was likely missed.

Also secondly, big changes were actually occuring in and around tuluk toward the latter days of Dargan. You weren't super active though, so it was likely missed. Dude, we never communicated anything IRL that wasn't done so in game. Please elaborate, because we actually took great pains to make sure we weren't doing such. Who is this, anyway? To address the comment in my account notes specifically - Dargan, Mae and another soldier went out to the dwarven ruins south of Tuluk. There had been a lot of magicker activity there lately, so we went to patrol. Mae requested staying there to forage for shit and see if she could catch any mages. Being a ranger, she was far better equipped to handle any nasty mages than Dargan was, so Dargan granted her that request. She was under the strict orders to stay at the dwarven ruins until Dargan came back to get her. Dargan and the other soldier headed back to Tuluk, and I logged out. I logged back in and headed out towards the ruins - even if Mae wasn't there it was a great spot to forage for arrowheads, which is exactly what I planned on doing. And if Mae was there..hey, great. But staff never bothered to ask me anything about it, and even when I emailed in addressing it and providing the name of the third soldier involved to verify my story...staff did absolutely shit about it. Left that comment sitting right there. We took great pains to avoid any OOC communication that wasn't already done so IC so...no, I don't get where you're coming from. Please elaborate. Now..I WILL admit that through the course of playing Arm with my wife, we did get a little too cozy buddying up with our characters a little too early on. Dargan and Mae actually weren't an example of that though - the friendship there evolved over many IG years. But staff noticed that, slapped us for it and I agreed with them. And what do the "big changes in and around tuluk" have to do with anything?

The major problem here is how you approached staff. Mainly the section about that indefinite break. You practically gave them the ammunition to set you up.

I think the major problem here is that you pretty much have to step on eggshells when dealing with Staff when you have an issue or two with how they do things. You can't be straight upfront and honest with how you're feeling or with your opinions of what's going one, because as you can see, doing so will get you force stored. Instead of actually opening a dialogue as to why certain things are driving you away from the game, they just drop that, "Oh, you're thinking about quitting? Take this storage. Later." line instead of seeing if there's anything they can do to help. I've actually played with Drunkendwarf a couple of times-- and that gentleman added a good bit to the game, he was fun as hell to play with if nothing else.
