Yesterday the new Nakki Templar took several PCs out on a patrol. They ran into a Mek and got stomped. Varjas and the Corporal died. Staff have decided to rezz them and said to treat them as deeply wounded.
I do not understand why they continue to play favorites and rezz for something that was completely in character, and seen by several PCs, when it goes against their rules. Maybe I am an idiot for continuing to think they can change.

Do you have any proof, like logs or such, that can confirm this? I don't doubt it; but it's best to have solid evidence when bringing forth something like this, because of the nonsense that has happened in the past where similar accusations were unverified.

Seconding the request for logs and communication where staff told people to retcon what they saw. Anything that allows Lizzie more time to play the game is a heinous act.

I have been rezzed on two different big hunts. Both because staff annihilated us with a broken npc.

Yeah, if staff put the NPCs there themselves rezzing the dead is fair game imo.

The resurrection policy (at least it used to be) only deaths caused by bugs were eligible for getting resurrections which seems reasonable. I've had resurrection requests declined because PCs death weren't because of faulty code. Unless there was some kind of funky code that didn't work right, I think this is likely due to staff members who don't understand the mechanics of the game and accidentally killed some people.
When I was a staff member, I ran an RPT that involved a super buff sorcerer NPC that ended up killing a super long lived and well known PC at the time. The character was a "maxed out" warrior (not really maxed out but that's what people would describe him at the time. It was a huge screw up on my part (I had him totally buffed, including energy shield which reflects physical attacks). When the warrior rescued a templar who was along for the trip, the warrior basically one/two-shotted themselves. It was tragic and I felt horrible. I petitioned for a resurrection from the Senior staff online at the time, PC resurrections required at least two Admins to approve. The senior staff at the time said no. It's good to have rules and be consistent with them, I understand. When I read stuff like this, it makes me sad.

If players ran into a mekillot and died, they shouldn't get rezzed under any circumstances. If a staff member loaded up a mekillot for the purpose of having it attack those players, it depends a lot on the circumstances. Were they in an area that is inhabited by mekillots? Was the group of a sufficient size/makeup to where it wouldn't be complete suicide for them to fight a mekillot? Then I don't see what warrants rezzing them. If they weren't in an area where you can naturally encounter mekillots, or if they were so few or so noncombat that loading one up is blatantly unfair, the staff member shouldn't have done it and I guess rezzing them is reasonable. Without knowing exactly what happened, I'd say that an actual AoD party - including a templar - riding around the salt flats should know that they might get attacked by a mekillot, so whether they encountered a natural one or a staff member loaded one up, rezzing doesn't sound justified.
Do you know if they were in the salt flats, and if the mekillot was loaded up by staff or just encountered organically?
