gdb.armageddon.org/index.php?topic=58086.msg1080695#newHas anyone bothered to mess around with this system to see how it works or plays out? Cures degrading is going to suck. Do plants degrade yet as well? When will we be able to dye cures a color using dyes? These questions and more: Never going to be answered Overall the changes don't look that bad though.

As far as code changes go, it looks like one of those annoying pet projects that no one on staff save for one person (Halaster, in this case) actually gives a shit about, when they should be focusing on modernizing the game more generally to encourage growth. No one is going to join the game because staff are updating a niche game mechanic to better fit what the staff's avatar characters need in order to PK more people.

I was informed that it took 3 cure tablets to cure burn on someone which seems more annoying than fun, but I could see the changes being interesting.
I'll give a shit about the cure system when you can use dyes on them to make the color you want as opposed to this fucking insanity that is the current system.

From a purely mechanical standpoint, the changes aren't that interesting. Instead of poisons and cures being a known quantity, they are semi-random in terms of potency and ingredient locations. So that means until players start to "find out IC" and then start to disseminate that information among friends, the only people who knows how poisons actually work is Halaster. Sounds like a good person to keep in charge of new mechanics after what happened with the Plainsman.

How long till we have a unique 'find out ic' poison that uses obscure code that only staff knows about? That's basically how meth works but its justified if it's technically craftable duh.
