Haven't played in years. Believe the merchant houses no longer have their own hunters/guards? Any clans good for someone looking to play a ranger and re-learn the game a bit? Preferably one without restrictive bullshit rules about going out hunting.

A lot has changed. I haven't played in a few years but there are new guilds that have replaced the old classes you may be used to. The ranger class is no more. Something like a scout or some.other outdoor guild would be a suitable replacement for ranger.
As for active clans that would be fun and not that restrictive, I have no idea. The Garrison always seemed interesting but I'm not sure it's still around. Also it depends on who the captain is as they have a lot of influence over how the clan is run.
