This is probably going to seem like a weird post to the contingency who thinks I'm out to destroy the game somehow, but: No, official staff complaints shouldn't be anonymous, actually. But the way they're currently handled is piss-poor.
There's already an avenue towards making anonymous staff complaints: write a review on a third-party site. Yes, the staff will scream that the complaint is fake, as Shabago essentially does in the linked thread. But it's currently the only realistic way to hold staff accountable in an anonymous, public fashion. For staff complaints directed at staff, they actually need your information in order to resolve your complaint, generally speaking. What the OP in the linked thread is suggesting would amount to little more than an anonymous advice box, that will be even easier to ignore than staff complaints currently are.
The way staff complaints directed at the game should be handled is outside of the request system. Many workplaces have rules that sexual harassment complaints can be made to multiple people within the workplace, so that you aren't forced to report sexual harassment to, say, your harasser. In many cases, these kinds of rules are mandated by law. Staff complaints should be handled in a similar fashion. All members of staff should be able to accept staff complaints privately via email and share the information within the email at their discretion to other parties. They should have the means to investigate staff complaints on their own and raise propositions regarding punitive or corrective action taken towards responsible staff.
Now you might ask, how is this different from the way staff currently handle staff complaints? After all, there are six staff members that handle staff complaints, and a staff complaint directed at one of these staff members will be investigated by the other five. Except staff have historically shown that they will circle the wagons around favored staff members, and will resolve staff complaints in record time just to get them off the queue. By directing a staff complaint at a specific staff member, you put pressure on that staff member to act. If they do not act, then you can contact another staff member. If that still doesn't work, you have public and anonymous means of publishing your complaint.
