ALRIGHT, what the fuck is up with these things. I’ve heard theories that they are psionic like gaj. As well as a few others. But does anyone know anything about these things? Better if anyone has seen them.

I don't think they've ever existed in-game as mobiles. They live in some virtual place beyond the silt sea, and the only time I've ever heard of them being used as any kind of story device was when they destroyed Red Storm East. It was just a sidenote even then, it's not like there was some grand plot around giants coming to the shores or anything. It was just "RSE is closed, giants did it."
If you're expecting a bunch of secrets and stories, I doubt there are any. They're just a red herring really.

In DS giants were commonly seen mainly outside the cities. They're around 20-25 feet tall so they are strong as hell for sure. I think the problem is how do you convert that to a game? They've done a good job with HGs since strength is such a serious stat and HGs get it so ridiculously high. I guess they could put some giant NPCs in but it's unlikely.

If you go hang out around RSE you can see evidence of them in room descriptions. One showed up recently IG but it sounds like it was more a random encounter than anything plot significant.
They are indeed very strong in psionics but I have never actually had a scene with one myself. Pretty much they are just flavor, not a major metaplot anything.

the true giants are supposed to have their own civilization beyond the silt sea, as they are one of the surviving races from the great defiling that turned Zalanthas into a sand box. They are highly intelligent, more so than any zalanthan humanoid.. Just the downside being their immense size and inability to interact with any lesser beings aside from accidentally stepping on their little villages and then refusing to leave because they find it interesting.
the above is conjecture but also probably not far from the original truth behind their presence there. most staff don't know the lore-deep reasons for things anymore.
In truth, all it takes for Allanak to become a ruin is for a single true giant to find its way there. ..Let alone a small group of them deciding to turn Allanak into a slightly bloody, stone, dung and bone flat-land.

No way would Nak fall to some giants. There's a ton of immense magick power behind the lore of the city. I don't foresee it ever going anywhere.

One of my points is that it feels as if most of this lore has long-since been forgotten about or is beyond the authority of some staff-members to have knowledge of. It would explain why so much is no longer touched on, as far as nuances and intricacies of the game world. It's as if half of the DM's campaign plan got ate by their dog and no one decided to step in and fix it.
