I remember two sub elementals. Ra (fire) and a water sub elemental (Aisa or something like that). Both were very early in the game's history (i.e. around 1995). Ra was a nasty piece of work, but I don't know what became of her. (Possibly Sunjar got her). She made herself the enemy of my Kuraci and his mate with her arrogance. The water sub elemental began as an elf and somehow allied herself with the Clearwater Oasis dwarves. They made her more dwarf-like in a ceremony in which they cut the points off of her ears and broke her back. A noxious pool of blood is all that's left of that dwarven tribe's home, destroyed at the end of the siege of Allanak. I think it's her remains. ... is that what that is? Damn, that is cool as shit. Been playing over a decade on and off and even was on staff for a bit, and still learning shit. Fucking awesome.

I've been thinking about how you'd implement something like a Defiler turning into a Dragon.
Is draining the life force of animals and people a thing Defilers can/could do in Arm? I'd imagine you'd slowly gain mutations and stat boosts the more you did that, until midway through you started randomly going into what is essentially Mul Rage on meth where you'll randomly fire off spells on anything nearby.

Draining the life force of things is absolutely part of the lore but I am not sure if it's something defilers can codedly do. I'm pretty sure that as your negative relationship with the land intensifies you gain more mana from each defiling, but as far as getting a new power to drain from mobs? I'm guessing no.

There is a spell called "Dragon Drain" that's basically Health Drain, Stamina Drain, Aura Drain and Psionic Drain rolled into one.
No clue if draining health and converting it directly to mana is a thing, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Yes but do players ever actually get that spell? I don't think so. It might even be a buggy WIP mess.

I suggested to Ikthe a long time ago that a Defiler who masters Gathering should get Dragon Drain. To my knowledge he sorta followed that. I'm not sure if he gave them Dragon Drain or a new thing entirely.
