In comparison to well-crafted, heavy weapons of their likeness, how do these weapons stand up? How good as a trident when compared to a nice spear? Or an Axe to pole-arms?
What sort of benifit do these other weapons bring? Why, after 5 years of playing have I only once ever need a warrior use these weapons?
Too hard to branch?

I too am curious about these. I asked about them in my general "warrior stuff" thread but nobody has replied yet, so either it is super hard to branch and hardly anyone has ever made it there, or the people who have made it there are not members of this forum, or don't care to share.

The reason branching and using these weapons are so powerful is that other characters don't usually have the weapon skill, which factors into defense. If a ranger has really high slashing and you have a maxxed warrior the ranger can give him a run for his money because his defense will be so good if the warrior uses slashing. So if a warrior uses razoring (which shreds armor btw, in 2-3 hits it will make your new helmet into a used, battered and eventually wrecked or just destroyed helmet that disappears as an item), that warrior will do much more damge because the ranger/assassin/insert_class_here does not have razoring so will get hit every time regardless of their parry/defense.

What even counts as a razor weapon?

They're literally called Razors. You can find them in-game at your local PC merchant Salarri. They aren't very common in game, like most of these sorts of weapons.

They can be. They're just looked at as weapons. It's kind of ridiculous actually. A tiny little razor wouldn't damage armor like that but that's how Nessalin coded it so whatever.

"Polearm weapons" have a ridiculous coded +parry that is almost game breaking. At novice, you parry what seems like all the time. The last polearm weapon master I saw could instakill alot of the junior monsters around. There is one chick running around now trying to master polearms, Izari.

What of tridents? It made sense to me that they should have been the wicked parrying weapons but aparently not.. are they just hard as piss to parry?

Does any one know of any extended subguilds that branch these weapons?

Warrior exclusive, as far as I know.

Indeed but what benefits does it infer over piercing weapons

Between Knife and Razor weapons... is there any benefit known to knife weapons? Ive had razors.. the armor shred is amazing. Never tried dirks/knives so I dont know.
Also pike weapons are terrible they make me sad.

Beldyn is one of the best trident users around. He almost killed some dude in one of the calls using a sparring trident (mastercrafted training weapon). Between Beldyn, Fanny, Izari, Draz... its hard to say Fanny will end up with the advantage with her extended subguild.
