Bills itself as a MUSH but it has coded features. Haven't got around to trying it yet. play.arxgame.org I wish I could suggest an RPI to you but as far as I know, they are all shit. |

I think the real problem with Armageddon is that they actively prevented OOC community from forming. Think about it - I've known cats that have flown to Europe to go hang out with their World of Warcraft Clan - everybody rented a beach house together. Somebody brought a sailboat. Lots and lots of barbecuing.
You can't have that in Arm because the GDB is the video game equivalent of North Korea - everyone pretends to believe things that nobody believes. No sincerity. Few real friendships.
That's why it's more satisfying to hang out here and reminisce on all of the fun that we almost had, rather than go roll up characters and have another go at it. Think about it. If the staff:
A) Apologized and
B) Let us form our own clan
Wouldn't most of us be willing to have a go at it? The average age of peeps on this board is like 32, or something. I promise I won't cheat. But no, they won't let us back in the game under those terms because they think that we'd cheat.
...that *WE'D* cheat, rather than the staff or their sanctified pet players. They think that we're worse cheaters than they are.
If cliques were allowed to form, we'd get:
A) The macho brothers
B) Cat ladies that wouldn't fit in with the macho guys
C) Weirdos who didn't fit in with the above
And periodically group A would fraction on it's own and that would be the real politics, the real plotlines. We've known each other for 20 years, why can't we have a good time? Staff won't let it happen.
Alas, Armageddon.

They do have thegdb meetups made of the people who are in the know. They get together, they booze, they probably fuck, dance, eat, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do they pass secrets about, that will NEVER happen.

I went a player meet-up. One member was on staff. We got all the secrets about drovians. Twas sweet.
