What should be worrying is the why because as soon as the plots get out there will be people actively trying to ruin it...for no good reason On some level, you can't blame people. So little happens in the game that whenever the first sprouts of a fledgling plot do pop out of the soil, everyone's just so desperate to get involved that they hug it to death. When you conduct the only noteworthy public plot in the last three RL years, every Dick, Jane and Tom is scrambling to get involved in any possible way. This means you can't get away with anything, because when the whole playerbase is scrutinizing your every action, you're not long for this world. But why wouldn't they? Nothing out of the ordinary has happened in so long it's barely worth remembering. This game sorely needs an old-fashioned HRPT, the kind where meaningful shit happens. The type of event that actually changes the way the game is played, at least for a while. Why don't the gith attack Allanak, forcing the AotD to deploy the bulk of its troops to the frontier and hire the Byn? This would not only give combat types something to do but also sow the seeds for a criminal underworld to pop up which, with just a little bit of staff support, would get the ball rolling for some meaningful roleplay in that venue. But no, that would take more than an hour a week of some storyteller's time. Can't do that. |

"Insane shenanigans." We didn't sit down and shut up when we saw miscarriages happen? How one team can be so fundamentally corrupt is a testament to the incestuous rot that has crept into the staffing team over a decade.
Staff: a lot of you simply disgust me.
The game should live on as a containment septic tank to keep these damaged goods players from creeping to other MUDs and tainting them. Truthfully, there is no way to justify playing this piece of shit game with the current pricks at the top of the heap. Anyone still giving Ginka traffic these days is either ignorant, or complicit in the thought policing going on. They are in either case blind, clearly.

So about 10 or so years ago when atonement or one of it's precursors was running, an Arm player (I think it was reiteration) somehow got or had imm rights to it and fucked around with some stuff. I think jaunt or someone else from there posted a thing about it on the gdb. The only other detail I remember about it was some kind of portal gun that he made? IDK.
Reiteration had a massive melt down, cut himself, and scrawled an apology letter on three hole punched looseleaf paper in his own blood and posted it to the gdb. Iirc nyr banned him from arm for the hacking incident, and took down any links to some simple helper tools he made as well.

If you care about RPIs or permadeath MUDs, boycott the fuck out of Armageddon. Let it die.

It feels like... Not sure on the word, "Glum"? Maybe not that strong, it's just a game after all. But really... Its also just a game... I'm no piranha."
We all know hands down the staff wont speak to stoicreader. He or she will stay due to addiction or find another way to spend many many hours. For every player who speaks up like stoicreader, ten will walk without saying a word.
I'm past being angry about this. I just cant see how a rational person expects Arms playerbase to stay health under this level of "maintenance".
I havent played in months. Today I had my first stirring of an idea. If karma reviews resume, shouldnt we have a couple ranger/viv poisoners and ranger / empowerment ruks ready to pk the new round of sorcs and muls?
