If the game didn't have problems before nergal this board wouldn't exist. I wouldn't say he's ruining the game like it's some sudden crisis. He is just taking up the mantle of the point man for giving bad news and handling it poorly like his predecessor.

I mean, so what? Would you not have done the same thing if you were trying to pull a fast one? Nyr had bad publicity, so he "stepped down" and this Nergal guy comes in and continues to do the same shithead stuff?

Also, if Nergal is a new staffer, why is he a Producer already? I don't actually know the MUD staff hierarchy, but I thought Producer was up there?
Additionally, it was pointed out to me, that if you view Nyr's profile he's always recently active. I haven't checked that in a while, and can't now because all of my GDB alts have been banned. (Another funny story.) Someone verify?
I'm convinced Nyr pulled a Sallie Mae and rebranded himself in a futile attempt to stave off some of the ill will he'd sewn over the years without having to actually fix any of the behavior that caused it.
I thought we'd had this discussion already somewhere? I didn't come up with this on my own...

So after a day of fuming over this, I realized this forum is not the problem in this latest round of banning. In my eyes, no one in this community has done anything wrong. I apologize for being a dick, hunted.
Armageddon is dying. They're trying to save it, but don't know how. I also don't believe that the staff is unanimously deciding to ban people. I would guess it is a small portion of the staff. Most of my encounters with staff members have been pleasant, except with Nyr and Nergal. I would not doubt the claim that they are one and the same.

According to sources Nergal is not Nyr but a well known Tuluki sponsored role that became staff, their sponsor role got stored, and now we are to this point. To assume that a staff that stuck by Nyr for so long wouldn't end up promoting someone similar to him to the "Bad News Position" is silly. I also doubt that Nyr or the staff would go to the length of changing Nyr's name, they'd just have him be Nyr if he was still in that position.

tbh, if nergal thinks that this board conducts 'attacks', I may as well expose Armageddon to 4chan. Nergal, do you even wanna tussle? I think the pepe will destroy your precious text.
(i guarantee that staff is reading this thread for giggles and self-gratification on banning someone that in turn triggers people whom are sympathetic/empathetic).

I don't think it's possible now, though... I worry they pushed it way too far into the red being willfully ignorant... well, let's, be honest about something, there are a lot of issues that arise on RPIS, now, things have been better than they've been in a long time, the trouble arises when you expect someone to stop. I give you a hint though, complete and total amnesty, and I don't mean just letting them back in until you can find issue, I mean, forgetting like you would ICly if X killed you in Y place. You wouldn't know that, and your current PC would not give a fuck about your past PC...

Staff dropping super-statted monsters on people in order to reduce opposition to their plots though, well, who hasn't seen that? I thought people were making it up until I saw them go nuts with a super-statted mul, needless to say, I was less than pleased.

Let's just leave ArmageddonMUD alone. Staff is doing enough damage on their own. They gave me the opportunity to recant and delete my account, which shows there was an olive branch extended. I just won't compromise on someone else's terms when it comes to playing a 20+ year old text based game about bald sweaty dwarfs. |

No. As funny as this might be, its the players that will suffer for it. Remember when the wiki leak happened? Staff posted this ominous message on the GDB that made it sound like they were considering something drastic, then went AWOL for a few days. Though some of the staff may deserve it, they will use innocent players as human shields. |
