The only bet I made was that he would return when there was no longer a threat of him ruining the game by driving it into the ground. Just hours after this code change, where the game is arguably moving in a generally positive direction, he rears his head again.
Welcome back, Nyr.

Or maybe the change in the game was so awesome that it attracted a bunch of people who havent played, havent logged in, were on semi or full breaks, and ... Nyr is one of them.
Nobody doubted Nyr would return. Question really is, was enough done to show that the game is so much better without Nyr? On Staff "and" the players side.

Question really is, was enough done to show that the game is so much better without Nyr? On Staff "and" the players side. Well, player numbers went back to normal in two months after his departure, and there has been a noticeable (if somewhat reticent) fresh air about the game. This forum turned to mindless bickering about underage sex and snowy mountains, and rehashing old grievances, because there wasn't enough left to post about with Nyr gone. I'd say it's abundantly obvious and completely undeniable that the game was undergoing an almost miraculous recovery from the moment he left, because he was the cause of most of the problems. I just hope he doesn't return to any position of influence. Preferably he'll turn legend and be a prick in-game where one can do something about it.

As much as I hate to indulge the Nyr conspiracy(Nyrspiracy Conyracy?). His comment showed he's at the very least been in talks with current staff about the new subguilds. Otherwise how would he know that staff found Search to be useless? I wouldn't be surprised if he was here the whole time. Just keeping his head down. I wouldn't be surprised if that post was a mistake on his part. Either way I think the guy should just be left alone unless he's causing problems.

Probably because everyone has found search useless for the last 15 years?

Good point. I'm definitely conjecturing. It was just the way he phrased it and the fact he popped up out of nowhere to answer a question that anyone else could have answered. Felt like it was supposed to come from an alternate staff account.

I was wrong. I really thought he had moved on. He has to know how unpopular he is. Doesn't he?

I would be perfectly fine if Nyr becomes a Legend, or even a helper if he wants to put in time.
But it's more clear to me that seidhr will move to being a coding admin and Nyr will take up southlands administration. Since everyone's been complaining about how nothing's happened in the South... wish granted?
