The obvious best solution is clear: apply all the half-giant sorceror subguilds you can now before it gets changed again. Limited edition!

honestly i think it's a good change and long overdue. i looked at the helpfiles and they listed skill maxes for some of the subguilds. there's was never any coherent reason why players shouldn't fully know the skill lists for zero karma guilds -- if players were supposed to select a guild that best represented their characters abilities, how were they supposed to do that without knowing what a guild can do?

I personally like the consolidations they did with Crafter and Jeweler.

Damn, these changes are so rad. Until the other shoe drops. I'm unhappy with the no karma subguilds for karma guilds.

It's not a hard rule; you just have to spec app like before. I like it because otherwise it would mean that the vast majority of magickers would be running around with extended subguilds and almost no magickers would have regular subguilds. This makes it a little more fair because karma isn't an immediate invitation to the entire guild/subguild buffet without limitation.
EDIT: Although as I've said before, extended subguilds do make elementalists feel more like people and less like spell machines, even if they can be OP. I am hoping that the buffed regular subguilds will help.

I particularly liked how some of the crafting sub-guilds were rolled into just "crafter".

Pickpockets getting hide through house servant now lets them max themselves out even quicker. And, y'know, doesn't result in having to become a master of stealth before you can learn to hide behind a crate.

Unless you really want floristry for reasons that warrant a lifetime of ridicule, you should take con artist instead for advanced watch. That helps you notice when others start watching you.
