This speaks to the OP well:
Sept 23, 2015 5:34:48 GMT -7 oldtwink said: Just the fact that they forcibly store characters for unrelated disagreements between player and staff, on a relatively regular basis, is gross misuse of power and absolutely inexcusable. They're using the confiscation of people's characters as a way to punish players for ideological differences.

I liked that Adhira offered to do the Teamspeak. I mentioned something to that effect on my post yesterday.

Terrible way to treat him. A very dedicated player on his THIRD PC trying to figure out how to run a clan. How many people you know who even attempt that? He was getting a firm grasp on it, then he watches players get murderized by some staff mishap and instead of ignoring it and selfishly hanging onto his guaranteed Karma delivery role. He stood up for what he found to be outright bad staffing and people who should know better defending it.
The Game's better for the loss of the unholy trinity. Almost feel bad for Sedhir now, the new southern team is perhaps to busy cleaning the shit out of the rug.

tedium is brilliant here: It's basic business retention. One of your customers is unhappy? Placate them by giving them incentive to come back that serves the greater need of your business. By telling an unhappy player to fuck off, in so many words, you drive dedicated players away and generate bad press about your brand. In this case they turned a newish player in a leadership role for an underpopulated clan into an enemy. This board doesn't exist because there's a conspiracy against Nyr, it's because he has less leadership sense than a 17 year old assistant manager at a fast food joint.

I just hope seidhr doesn't beat me up... i have this mental image of him sitting on his imm throne pointedly staring at me with hate and contempt as he menacingly pumps some dumbbells in my general direction.

Heh Kronibas, seems you've chilled some, perhaps what ever temper you flared on the other end has chilled some too.
People get nasty on the net, but I generally go by not letting some mean text linger and create some undue desire for revenge and justice. IF anything, motivate me to find better means of conflict resolution and situation diffusion.

Triple p was on his third char when that fiasco went down? How can you treat a new player so inconsiderately?
For shame, armageddon staff. Seriously, for shame.

To be fair to staff, Triple P is a sharp dude. Perhaps didn't expect him to rebel so quickly, efficiently, and with in good merit with solid arguments.
The great newbie underestimation!

We would have killed him, too, but he wasn't enough of an idiot to fall for a random rinthi screming at him to eat a dick.

People get nasty on the net, but I generally go by not letting some mean text linger and create some undue desire for revenge and justice. IF anything, motivate me to find better means of conflict resolution and situation diffusion. Yeah, I have chilled. I was in a bad spot, saw all those staff members talking trash, and that, in combination with some RL bullshit I was fighting through, made me fly off the handle. If I had read the entirety of the retention thread beforehand, I don't think it would have sit me the same way... but there I am, most of the way through playing through the month of January, and suddenly, I notice new staff members talking shit about this forum... and it dawns on me that "making ArmageddonMUD great again" is more of an uphill battle than I originally anticipate, which threw me off and made the whole thing seem pointless for a moment. Maybe that was paranoid of me, but sorry, the way things have went down have made me feel defensive; it is hard, really hard, to get out of "knives out" mode once you're IN "knives out" mode... does that make any sense? I feel like a lot of players are still in "knives out" mode, just because they have been there and done that when encountering BS from the forces above. Instead of antagonizing them further, I think a good question to ask is this: How can we convince both sides to stash their swords and move forward with good faith? Ultimately, I think that ball rests in the staff's court... as long as they act like they refuse to trust posters here and continue to reinforce nyr-established divisions, problems will remain. Losing players to save face seems like a perfect example of squandering potential for no others reasons save spite or pride... and leader-admins of a game should be bigger than that, especially when it was someone who came before them that publicly bears the brunt of these conflicts, even if others are privately to blame. I hope that makes a little sense.

The difficult thing to accept is they actually ousted their "no" man, their trump card, Nyr. No flowers left along his path, just kind words from them. Keep the faith, Kronibas.

he can't say no for them again, they might likely have to say it themselves.

Do you really think they "ousted" him? Not saying it isn't possible. It's definitely a valid theory, that he was given an honorable discharge so to speak, a face saving move by saying he's on hiatus when really he's gone for good. But the official claim is that he's on hiatus and will therefore be back. You know LoD made a huge petition of players against bhagharva, voicing their complaints as an entire community. And as far as I'm aware it worked, he as kicked off. If we want any certainty that the days of nyr are gone and we can finally get back to enjoying our game, we're gonna have to get an official statement. Otherwise it's all conjecture.
