if people were really trying to express care, don't you think they would have used their real forum name like desertman ? bullshit is pretty easy to spot. i'm pretty convinced it was malken or a friend. if they were one of my friends who actually gave a shit, they would have at least used their real name. same goes for most others who came here to be concern trolls with the ulterior motive of just trying to silence people. I don't know? I don't use my GDB name. I really don't have any attachment to the game anymore or anyone that still plays it. I guess my emotional involvement with the game has faded over the years. That doesn't necessarily mean I can't recognize a person in crisis. sorry, i might be wrong. i have been wrong a lot before in this world and am probably just way too paranoid for my own good... not knowing who is really who sorta exacerbates paranoia, especially when you have sincere people coming at you, trolls coming at you, and then simply amused/curious fence sitters coming at you. i dont mean to disparage anyone with legitimate concerns. it's just... hard to tell who those people really are given the nature of the beast. |

i got mugged in downtown Atlanta in 2004... when i was leaving an APM, actually. three older black crackhead dudes nearly killed my ass.
they gave me 33 stitches in the mugging after I tried to fight them off. in broad fucking day light.
the Deep South is so mired in poverty/desperation/subsequent insanity that, at times, it's hard not to hate/fear basically most other people.
i'll say this, though... was driving through Montana and Wyoming back in like Decemember, and I was surprised at how many homeless dudes were sticking it out in the cold up there... i mean, damn. at least it's a little warmer in the Dirty Dirty.

I got robbed, once... the idiot tried to grapple me, I quickly lowered my stance and shifted my footing, despite his weight, I was fighting him a short while, but when I went to throw him, in the darkness I noticed a broken metal signpost where he was headed, so I uh, kind of, let him steal my wallet and go.

I knew, if I threw him then, he would die, so I just, let him take it... he took the money out then tossed it back at me, I'm not sure he understood what he avoided, and I don't care. he got like, fourty dollars. I just hope he wasn't so stupid in the future.
