The man feels the need to vent.
I didn't even read the thread. I had someone else PM and tell me Kronibas, who is actually a very nice person, was having a meltdown and people were giving him shit.
This board exists so people can say whatever they want.
Let the man say whatever he wants. He isn't harming you or anyone else here in any way.
If the rule for these boards was, "What you post has to be true and a proven fact and not 99% angry half-baked bullshit.", then 99% of the posts here wouldn't exist.
If you don't want to read his posts, don't read them.
Someone trying to silence someone else's opinion here of all places is laughable.

i just got my hopes too high, is all. it's entirely my fault for thinking shit would be different. i regret it and i regret making a show of being floored without checking the waters first; that was incredibly naive of me, and i'm sorry.

you're right... I have just always tried to do *good* on that game. And when the staff, who i thought was going to be better after nyr was gone, just keep publicly talking shit about people posting here, well... that's not a good sign.
after nyr, I thought they would understand why some people posted here... instead, they just belittle it.
i just don't want to even try if staff are going to talk shit, speak in a belittling way, and potentially try to sabotage shit i'm doing in game... it's happened before.
what i'm going to do now is pry myself away from this damn screen and walk through the snow to the grocer. thanks for the idea, abuzer. i will think hard about it because, from your stories here, i can tell you have a pretty good outlook on shit.

They just don't "get it" yet. For as long as I've known of these boards, they've been Arm's "boogeyman". I honestly thought this place was filled with twink griefers who just hated staff because they got punished for doing something wrong somewhere. Imagine my surprise when I figured out it was the other way around. They'll come around, but it's so deeply ingrained it's not likely to happen soon.

... and potentially try to sabotage shit i'm doing in game... it's happened before.... then start over even with a new account. that's good for u, good for them. get a proxy and fix your ip to a different ip when logging in to the game. this is 21th century, no one can prevent you from playing a game you love as long as you don't damage the RP. And a start over will make you truly focus on RP ing your characters. You care a lot about this game, and that can only make you a great player. You win, arm wins. |

Kroni, those posts you quote from Malken illustrate to me that he is a thoughtful guy who has ideas of how the game should be fun, some ideas we agree with, others we might not. He also has some in depth experience with the game in certain areas but not all of them. Finally, he is guilty of conversing OOCly with certain players and maybe staffers/ex-staffers.
In no way does any of the above make him unique on staff, really. Aren't they all like that?
Is this really, in any way, surprising? I think we knew that staff only took in staffers "they trusted" for a long time now. For as long as arma has existed, a pre-existing friendship with a staffer has been true for most new imms.
Finally, I don't know where the proof of the new staff's identity as malken is but I don't care either. It won't matter if malken plays non-arma games as much as he claims to, and he won't make any true impact on the game except gain some kind of popularity points for himself.
Come to think of it, this is kind of a disgusting selection for staff. I'm sure there's at least one better qualified person out there who should have gotten the spot (next). It's anyone's guess who that is though.

I'm not calling anyone a liar but I'm not sure I understand the story. Supposedly Malken accidentally made a post on the GDB under his player handle thanking people for welcoming him as the new staff, but I don't see any posts from anyone welcoming Cayuga.

Well, with any luck, Malken will grow into the type of staffer Arm needs, I'm not holding my breath or anything, but I will say, optimists aren't always wrong.
