You were so high your emotes were often literal gibberish. I believe you mentioned on the clan board that you'd got a head injury and were heavily medicated. You had a reputation for drug use so I wasn't sure if that was bullshit. Sometimes your emotes were entire sentences of displaced letters, like you'd hit one key to the left of where you meant throughout the entire emote. Your character also behaved very weirdly, like an actual insane person.
I didn't even know you had magic items. You took three of us down to the crypts, demanded that we walk through a Nilaz portal in order to rob the NPCs in the Red Storm alleys (I have no idea why and just assumed it was a product of your being high as fuck), and threatened to kill us when we refused. I had no OOC contact with the other players, but they both assisted me when I backstabbed you. Afterwards we all agreed to keep it secret, but I got nervous that one of them would spill the beans so I decided to kill them in the next few days. Gin and Quick were away for some reason and had left you in charge, and I think it was after Marin was killed so nobody was there to notice you missing. ICly, if I could get rid of the two witnesses, I'd be safe.
First I met up with WarriorPriest's character, took him to one of the rinth buildings, and told him "there's been a change of plans." Emoted diving toward him with my blade, he emoted going "no! wait!" and holding up his hands, and then I killed him. He sent me a kudos. When I tried to repeat the process with the other guy a day later, instead of responding to RP, he instantaneously speedwalked somewhere after I emoted standing in the doorway and drawing my weapon. I figure he then snitched on me, because when I went to Tuluk, it didn't take more than a RL day before Gin and Quick wormholed into the apartment I'd rented and killed me.
I've never had any sort of OOC contact with staff members, but upon creating my next character, some anonymous staffer sent me a tell with "damn, I loved Shank, sorry you died" or something to that effect. It was also the big moment where I realized that if you give people the benefit of the doubt in PvP, they'll probably abuse your trust and fuck you over.

Fair enough, BF. I'll concede that. I've never played a whiran, but felt like something was missing since summon was removed, however, I can understand why it was, so I'm conflicted. Some here, however, are coming off as rather rabidly anti-whatever and it sort of puts me off, so I'm just saying, chill guys, frothing over the mouth over this damages our collective credibility.

It was also the big moment where I realized that if you give people the benefit of the doubt in PvP, they'll probably abuse your trust and fuck you over. One of my first characters had someone RPing holding a knife to my jugular (without emotes leading up to it). I typed flee self and then proceeded back into the room that they were in to talk. I ended up running like hell from them in the end anyways. "Your backpack or your life" or something. I think I made it away from them, but I died from something else within the next couple of hours (I think I was hurt because they had got some hits in). I've been in similar situations with invisible d-elves letting me know that I'm 100% helpless emote wise. Generally, when people let you know that you're 100% helpless RP wise, it's probably because their skills suck. Otherwise they don't need to have you 'helpless' emote wise - give me your stuff or die, threatening emotes, etc. would be their game otherwise. Also... It's one thing to have a really hide and sneak skill in the desert and get to place to place unseen; I think it's another to be a freaking ghost haunting people in desert flats. I don't know that this one had any of the over-the-top control RP, but there was this razor-thin red fang d-elf or something which almost killed several of my characters. He never got any of them though - zig zag zig zag, arrow arrow arrow. I'm not sure if that was a player character or staff possession. If it was a player character, they kept him alive for quite some time. Props razor-thin delf. You made the desert scary and fun for me Sorry for wiping out your tribe People should respect oldtwinks route though. I don't like emotes that say, "BAM, you're 100% helpless, what are you going to do?" In comparison, I love how you handled things.

I don't know, there's some players who will play out a scene who you can reason with (even with the knife-to-the-throat power emote, I usually roll with power emotes, myself), then there's others who OOCly just want to put another notch on their murder belt, and nothing you do or say can change that, which I think most of us can agree the latter are shitstains.
EDIT: Haha! I just remembered being in an apartment with anther character I shouldn't have been alone with, just chatting away and eating their food, when suddenly, someone whistles a quiet tune from the shadows. I ran like fuck all!... of course, I understood and appreciated that, and in no way attempted to fuck over the other PC, as my PC knew they could have just been knifed.

I would totally be down for BF's disorientation lag on swapping with someone, even on a success. I also think that the whiran should lose any spells on them that go away when combat starts, and consider the swap a violent action so no logging out for the next 10 minutes.
