Even as someone who never had a conflict with the staff personally - and in fact I'd say my interactions with the staff were on the whole overwhelmingly positive - it's easy to see why this board was necessary. It basically opened communication of failures, corruption, and player opinions that weren't possible back when I actually played.
Has some of it been bad? Yeah. Probably. I thought spoiling RPTs and the like was shitty. Some of the personalities on here make it clear that the staff can do no right by them no matter what.
But most of it's been good, and damn good for that matter. Arm went through a period that I honestly didn't think it would survive, when player-staff hate was at an all-time high, no changes were in sight, and it felt like both the players (make no mistake, it was the majority of them) and the staff more stubbornly-entrenched than ever.
The course reversed though, and it's plain to see even from the outside. Attitudes around here are more positive than they've been in years. It's actually been interesting to watch.

The course reversed though, and it's plain to see even from the outside. Attitudes around here are more positive than they've been in years. It's actually been interesting to watch. It really has. The improvement is quite a shock to me because I just didn't think it possible (knowing what I know of human nature, especially dickheaded human nature). It's just a shame it had to go through countless veterans quitting and/or being banned for change to take place at all. After the first one left alarms should have been ringing in everyone's head. I really truly hope in reading this that present admin are rightly and truly embarrassed and feel foolish for the decades of failure they've created and permitted. Not because I'm a mean and nasty guy but because those are feelings anyone needs to go through in order to improve and be a better person. The greatest obstacle to present imms is not having to deal with their fractured egos but keeping the recently revived game from flatlining a second time. If you guys really want to be seen as volunteer WORKERS then don't stop the work and keep adding, keep offering new things, and keep doing something different for a change. Also strive to be polite and civil rather than petty and small. It will be interesting to look back on this thread in 6 months from now and see if people still feel the same.
