What does that even mean? If you're asking how devoting the bulk of staffing efforts to the Tablelands is different from devoting them to Allanak, the difference is that Allanak is 80% of what Arm is now, and the entire game's well-being hinges mostly on Allanak's activity level. It should be priority #1 anytime it isn't thriving. Ignoring Allanak to run plots in the Tablelands is a recipe for disaster in anything but the very short term. The city is the lifeblood of the game. Anytime the game is low on players, it's basically always because the cities (now city) aren't doing well. I don't think their ignoring 'nak as much as just trying something different. I dear to say the focusing on just 'nak in favor of Literally everything else help garner the low pop numbers. We can only have the same conversation in the Gaj every week before yea, everyone likes a change of pace.

I think the best part ISN'T you can play gith. I think that it is that they are allowing you to store your current PC then jump back in once the gith is dead.

If anything, this is a move to give Allanak something to do. A PC enemy that hasn't been touched on this fully in years. It's pretty cool, I think. Merry githmas, nerds! Yes, you too, old grinch.

I think this is a step in the right direction. A living PC antagonist group, full of conflict, travelling will be uncertain and exciting for a lot of people in the least, lots of pvp and bloodshed. This could be one of those story arc type things I've been wishing they'd do. Man, I'm really tempted to come back and app a gith. I probably won't, but this is a really interesting development. If this goes right.....awwww yesh!

i'm a member of staff. gith players will be told to make trouble with all these fresh tableland players (conflict, bitches), and things will come to a head when armies of gith pour out from the sprawling underground caverns beneath the desert and begin slaughtering the tribes. in their blood haze, they'll begin inflicting damage on Allanak's holdings and big boy Tek will be like, "nigga, pls." a dazzling display will occur.
The end.
(i'm not staff, but this is a good bet)

All you have to do to see it is make a Tablelands character... Not really a tough barrier for entry, lol.

To upkeep the interest in allanak, there has to be some common enemy that the city can unit against, while at the same time scheming and corrupting itself internally for more power.
Tuluk could be such an enemy, but it's too powerful, and if fully animated, it'd be a little 'too' impressive and difficult to judge the limits of. Though I'm sure it too will be used.
Ghyrraks are too lame. Clearly, judging from the reaction of this board. "Yet another bug hunt. We want moar! Boooooriiing"
So they opened up gith. To create an enemy. It will be an enemy to the tribals delf/humans. It will be an enemy to Kurac (Who does have some people). It will be an enemy to Allanak possibly. Or perhaps a tool to be used by Allanak, but time will show.
Opening gith "is" a method to upkeep the interest in playing Allanak. How else are you gonna do it? Staff already tried to run small tiny role calls of small citybound gangs and groups. They had varied success, but inadvertently ... rather small improvement on overall 'fun' rating.
Dont matter what gets done. Haters gonna hate.

Haters gonna hate. ghryyakkks were dumb. gith are dumb too (as in: mentally retarded - the concept is awesome). it's not an enemy worth getting excited about if you are involved in allanaki politics or a run-of-the-mill allanaki citizen. up in the tablelands: fuck yes, that shit'll be fun. down in allanak, the AOD Sergeant meets with the Templar, and talk about how that really boring aide is still really boring. the fix: wait for the boring to move on and get replaced by the exciting in the southern staffing team.

Since there's not going to be any staffer waiting to tell the AoD not to ride in on their pre-planned siege RPT, I think the AoD is going to get itself involved in this. It has that potential, anyway.

During Hasan's group activity, AoD had their hands full and hasan's group only began reacting violently when it feared for its safety.
First of all. Allanaki is brimming with plots. Some fun, some boring. Some smart, some incredibly dumb. Allanaki is brimming with good players. Some fun, some boring. Some horribly smart, some are awesomely dumb. Balthazar managed to really fuck up my character and yet I still love his ass. Great character!
What can Gith activity do to bring some activity to Allanak.
Gith are known raiders and are 'not' limited to their turf. Which means all those Merchant House wagon traffic? Be it virtual, or player ran, just suddenly got real. No more lip service Byn escorts, they are going to earn their money.
Sun Runners cant fuck up the Gith as easy as they did Red Fangs. Gith outnumber the Sun Runners. Now Sun Runners gonna feel the problem of their material supply runs getting seriously dangerous.
Gith are known to have defilers and nilazi amongst them.
That Oashi Vineyards? Perfect place for gith to visit and get their booze on. They'll junk all the wine barrels and drink the blood of the slaves.
Who said that Gith are dumb? That's a pretty silly thing to say. They're not fucking goblins. They're not exceedingly intellectual, but they're sure are cunning. If you really want to get an idea of how gith are, compare them to the Max Payne movie. There is a lot of gith behavior there.
They are dumber then elves in the idea that elves are extreme survivalists. Gith are more quick to sacrifice themselves and their entire village of old, feeble, and children, just to delay the chase after the warband of abled gith warriors and breeders.
Shit got real, guys. You wanted war between Allanak and Tuluk? Well. Since both AoD and Legion kept getting themselves killed on a continuous basis before any of them actually met each other in the field. Here's ... something else to cause lots and lots and lots of conflict. I just hope fucking Majickal and X-D gets accepted into Gith. Then I'll get inside the basement and never fucking leave.

Personally, I'm having a lot of fun in Allanak, behind closed doors where those boring aides can't ruin it.
