I know there's tons of things we are all guilty of at some point, and there are a few things we do that just seem a bit illogical from a character standpoint to do always, as well. I thought it'd be interesting to see some of the things we choose not to do at the detriment of our 'winning' but for better roleplay. These are things I started doing that grew the longer I roleplayed.
A few examples:
I -don't- look at every person that walks into the bar I'm in. (Some characters are paranoid to a truly psychotic degree, so I don't see a big deal usually with this)
I -don't- scan just because someone else does.
I 'forget' PCs.
I don't give out sdescs if I can avoid it. In whole. One keyword, and then describe a few things I could have noticed given their outfit. If they're super shrouded up, I just go with not being able to see much of them, and describe the outfit. (No sunslits- go eyecolor, no facewrap- go facial features, etc)
--------------
That's all I got off the top of my head. I'm sure I'll remember more, but I'm curious to see some things other people do; maybe I'll even add some to my roleplay through the feedback.

I have given up the ability to nod. No longer will I needlessly emote by going say -nodding Yes this is cool.
It is not cool! Stop nodding!

Ahahahahahahaha. Motherfucker please. I think I vaguely remember someone telling a story about an aide telling a green eyed dark haired templar that the culprit they saw was green eyed and dark haired and then getting smacked for it. Or something like this. Anyone remember who that was?

Let talking and waying and thinking ooc mixups run their course. This is pretty universal now, but I have a feeling that when I started Arm, 50% players would have ooc ignore plz. Might be wrong there.

I will repeatedly commit to predetermined character flaws, while putting the PC at grave risk. It's much more fun when you manage to come out the other end crispy, but alive.
I often volunteer to forget things that I know about the meta. I get so tired of the know-everything gang. Yes, we realize you've played this game a lot!
Separating oneself from your own conclusions is perhaps one of the hardest things to do, and something I fail at, but continue to try and portray properly. For instance, you might realize the 'best friend' is plotting to murder your precious PC, but do they realize it?
I dunno, I've made a virtual career out of playing powerful leadership roles and tanking them and/or never accomplishing anything lasting or profound. It used to upset me that my machinations were shot down without a care, but you know ... in retrospect, it seems real.

I do many of the things mentioned already.
Codedly: I'm notorious for attempting to lose sparring matches to people I'm close to in combat abilities. (Makes your character harder to gauge too)
Rp wise: I love having glaring character flaws. I.e. A terrible sense of direction, habitual liar, etc.

He had a large Adam's apple, Lord Templar, and he had strong abdominals on his chest.
