This would be great if the rest of the game was in good shape. A healthy Allanak is so much more important than a good Tablelands plot, though. That's what they should be focusing on. Events in remote areas with few players can never be a priority when there's a severe need for administrative attention in the place where almost everyone is. Right? I mean this is common sense isn't it? Gah I'm just really flabbergasted. Why not run something in the city-state? Want to include your little pet tribal clan, fine but don't force that into the equation. It just seems so scripted. I'm sure they have it all written down, scripted out how it is going to go down and everything and that is really what is the most disenchanting thing to me about the whole game. I feel sorry for the two people that get to play a part in this grand tablelands plot as random guy #2 and #3 because staff sincerely believes that there is NOTHING wrong with allanak and the playability. they are, remember, already doing everything people suggested in the player retention thread.

oh, and let's not forget in all this mess: they kinda-sorta-maybe closed down a clan. yeah! (it depends on how you read the whole merger shit with the alseik and arabet. of course, nobody gives a shit about either on their own, so woooooptidoo.) This was something they did a long time ago. The two have been sharing a camp for RL years now, I can't even remember when they were separate.

1. Two words: Urine Moose. there's no way I'll roll up a PC under his administration, and he's admin of the tribals. so: no. Who? Players are the actors not the audience. not sure when staff will get that figured out. QFT and because it needs to stay on the current page... though personally I view players as the co-writers, not merely actors.
Rath is just more of the same. If anyone thinks that Nyr's temporary replacement isn't going to be someone that shares most of his ideas and philosophies...then you haven't had much experience in organizational nepotism. People simply project their 'hopes' onto Rath, because they don't know him very well. Or because he hasn't had to be the one taking point on unpopular initiatives in the past. But let's just be assured, that given what we know about Nyr and Nessalin...a 'principled opposition' is not a respected concept in the Armageddon staffing hierarchy. Ehhh... this seems like a lot of speculation. I'm all up for a pessimism-down on Arm, but Rath's projects in Tuluk were a total 180 from Nyr's and Rath got royally fucked over by the closing. Do you have any examples of Rath going full-nyrtard?

There's a lot of parts of Arm I'm not fond of or not sold on. A LOT OF THEM. BUT...
I'm glad to hear about this. The tablelands doesn't get enough play (not for lack of player interest, as has been noted above). I doubt it will go down this way, but if the idea here is to turn it into pah/allanak vs tuluk/allanak by stirring up new clans and actually moving to support rather than try to curtail more player activity in the area, I think that's a net positive. For anyone who does get tied up in whatever the hell part of the plot that players are supposed to be (audience watching the plot? actually running it? participating in a small and limited fashion which might change the outcome?)... that remains up for debate, but plots that stir more activity in areas that activity has been railroaded out of in the past strikes me as good, because the past indicates players wish there was more access, more going on, whatever, in the area. And it's got some of the coolest npc ai and ecosystem in game (if you count the attached mantis valley as also part of the pah)

sirra I don't really agree. The tribal humans have never been a part of that dynamic. The table lands being fun has been an elf-only club. My conversation with Rath was empathetic to the fact that they would have to change the structure and meta purpose of the tribal human clan for it to work. Oh hey, looks like they're doing that. I hope it works out.

I can't take any credit for the work Mordigg and Rath have been putting into their stuff. I just know it'll be good.
Buncha negative nancies in here.
Edit: and if you're not going to play there or you're not even playing... why would you care? Lol. Indie staff work separately on projects from the southern or gmh team unless there's overlap.

Honestly. I don't care. I have nothing better to do with my shitty internet on the ship but check these forums. Soon as I'm back in hawaii my presence on these forums will go down to about once a week if that and I will be rocking out to League or working on Darksun.
