Though I imagine sanvean probably did temper some of the neckbeard's more assholeish qualities in those days

Though I imagine sanvean probably did temper some of the neckbeard's more assholeish qualities in those days There were actually MORE assholes on staff back then, however, some of them were very up front and honest, even amusing about being such rampaging pricks that it was overlooked. Because they were actually making things happen. Rest assured I have plenty of enmity for such abusive cheaters as halaster, sanvean, zagren, bhagharva, and their offspring laeris, mekeda and naiona. And many more besides. In those days their cheating was so rampant and so over the top it was one hair away from being downright blatant. Almost as if they openly said haha look at us cheating and you can't do anything about it. The absolute only difference from then and now are two things. 1) Some of the previous bunch were actually creative and helped breathed life into the game. None of the current bunch appear to have any such qualities. 2) Open, public, discussion about the game...outside of the game and its control freak imms....was virtually non existent. Today we have this board. |

I think I still found that preferable to the current request tool. |

thats true, u knew when u fucked up and they didnt use kid gloves or pc language to coddle u before feeding u to the woodchipper
the rules were more cut-and-dry and dealt with an informal case by case basis that let u get a better feel for what they were going for
eventually some staff abused the power they were given and got out of hand but those were the exceptions not the rule and then when players got kneejerk bitchy about anything resembling staff advantages thats when the dumb micromanaging was made into a policy thats crippled lower staff more and more with each year
