Desertman on the RAT: Right. Lizzie can play the devil's advocate, endlessly provoking other players, but she gets called out in the most mild fashion, and suddenly staff needs to intervene and protect her? What the fuck are you smoking, desertman? Lizzie can play the devil's advocate.
If you agree with her doing that or not isn't the point. What you can't do is call them out on a personal level and tell them they don't even have a right to be part of the conversation.
Which is what happened.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with your point.
I am an unbiased party to the subject matter saying, "This was called out and locked down because it was against the rules. Plain and simple.".
If you want to disagree with someone over there, I highly recommend you toe the line as carefully as possible in regards to the rules there.
I'm not saying you were right or wrong about Lizzie.
I'm saying you broke the rules.
There can be zero surprise about what happened based on that basic math.
You're a cuntsmack if you think that the reason Mordiggian locked that thread had anything to do with Lizzie. It had everything with them getting bombarded by uncomfortable truths. All Lizzie did was interject herself often and obnoxiously enough to finally provoke a backlash and give them the convenient excuse. |

If your sarcasm meter is so broken, that even after the previous ten posts in this thread, you are perceiving 'cuntsmack' as a serious pejorative aimed at you and worth getting offended over, then I'm not sure I want to have a conversation either. But if you really are convinced that the thread was locked and closed, and justifiably so, because someone called Lizzie a diehard, then maybe we shouldn't have a discussion anyways. It seems painfully obvious to me what the true motivation was. I'm not offended. I'm informing you that there is a criteria to having a conversation with me if you want to actually have one. You can choose to be part of that or not. That is up to you.
Now:
The thread WAS locked and closed because Lizzie was personally attacked.
That is the ammunition you provided them with. You did that. You allowed them that opportunity because Lizzie finally got you to snap. You did that. You provided that gateway.
Now, to your other point. Yes, I do believe that they wanted that thread to be locked and closed at this point in a large part due to the fact they were getting a lot of opinions they did not like from a lot of people.
A lot of those opinions came from me.
Some of those opinions from everyone else had merit and some did not.
Yes, I do believe they wanted an excuse to close that thread.
I also believe you gave them that excuse.
So you can blame them for wanting to close the thread because they didn't like the message they were getting.
You can also blame yourself for being the person to give them the excuse they needed.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the fact that staff finally snapped and showed their true colors, and saved us all wasting more time in a worthless thread. I think the way it ended was vastly more revealing than any of the bullshit 'we're not so different after all' platitudes. Those that are already satisfied with Armageddon's current state, will be unaffected. Those that were considering coming back? Well. They can do so knowing what really awaits them. I figured all of this for mostly being smoke and mirrors...Mordiggian and Nessalin proved as much to me. The thread isn't locked anymore by the way. Shadow board wins again, amirite? You may now return to your regularly scheduled circle jerk, where sympathetic noises will be made, and nothing will actually change. |

He's getting a lot of hate lately, but I honestly don't have a problem with Mordiggian. He seems like a nice guy. He's made some GDB flub-ups (such as this one) but comparing him to Nyr seems a bit harsh. I don't detect any malice there. Also, I've heard positive reviews from those who have had him as clan staff; they say he's really good about working with players in a positive way to help them achieve their goals, which is really all I ask for in clan staff.
I can see why someone might be put off by the way he so cheerfully defends staff actions on the GDB, but c'mon, he's no Nyr.

It is filled with juvenile retorts and insults towards anyone that disagrees with the status quo. He's the only staffer that communicates on the GDB in eyeroll emojis, for one. Said as if the immediate and overwhelming negative reaction to Mord locking it, which even spilled into the RAT, had nothing to do with them reopening it. Come on, dman. |

What's your posting history look like? Better than his. But you know what, cuntsmack? I'm not a staffer. I don't have forum moderator powers that can be abused. I can't look at, or add to account notes. I'm not a representative of the game. I'm a player. I can be a bit more real and blunt in my communications, because I'm only representing myself. And if you don't disagree with me? I can't go lock and delete your shit. Staff needs to be held to a higher standard. And Mord is by far, the most immature staffer that posts on the GDB. He also has an extremely thin skin and inability to deal with constructive criticism, however mild. It's true though, that as my disillusion and contempt for current staff has grown, I've definitely stopped sugarcoating shit. Because I no longer had to worry about them taking mai karmaz away. |

I guess I prefer a couple dismissive or immature eyerolls on the GDB to the hateful acerbity some staff members have been seen to display. He may not always have the best tone, but I don't get the impression he's a bad guy. And I'd rather have somebody well-meaning but with juvenile tendencies than somebody who is downright pernicious.
