I think people are making too big a deal of this. Wait and see is my recommendation. Anyhow, in terms of requests for things, here's one I thought might be reasonable in Luir's, once upon a day, to liven the place up for the hapless Recruits of the Fist. Basically, to create a room with a couple of (orthogonal) exits to the outpost and hidden tiny entrances (too small for anyone to get in). Spawn a couple of rats or small spiders in them which could creep out and (occasionally) be seen. Then the officers could set the Recruits to clearing the outpost of the pests and eventually burning out the nest once an entrance was found. (This was long before rats started to appear in Allanak). Simple to do, but no, the reply was more or less, "thanks, but it seems unlikely". That was it. This is representative of my experience in asking for small things. which staff member?

Yes, Luir's is, pretty boring, and rat and spider nests could help with the, boringness of it. I won't go into my perspective on Luir's, because it would be, possibly overzealously, hurtful, but fixing the boring part for the Fist would go a long way toward making things, maybe a little less boring and/or repellent for everyone else there. The main problem I see is that the crim-code in Luir's is fucked to SHIT, and needs some tweaks before that would be possible, which could have unforseen consequences.

So. As far as I know, Nyr didn't start clan caps, the glass ceiling, the closure of Tuluk, or even the stifling weekly report process for leaders. However, he certainly seems in favor of those things, so he's a part of a bigger problem.

Could be mistaken but I was informed part of the long list of reductions was no more building projects. Adding spiders and and rodents is hardly building but I bet certain imms see it otherwise. A usual rule of thumb to go by is: if it's addition, it's bad.

There was always glass ceiling. Clan caps are necessary, albeit sometimes wrongfully applied. Weekly reports are in my opinion a good thing. Closure of Tuluk was started by Nyr I believe.
Although I support that decision, because Tuluk sucked. Something folks forgot now that its closed.

It's not that people forgot, it's that there were a million other ways it could have been addressed or fixed without shutting down the only other main area to play in.

Okay, I haven't seen this directly asked yet (and if it has, apologies): IF Nyr comes back, what does that look like? Does he assume his Producer role again? Quietly fade into the background but remain staff? I'm trying to recall precedents where Producers have stepped back and then returned, and what shape that took. There's not a whole lot springing to mind.

There's an opportunity now, by coming back to the game as a player, to say, "See, if you do the right things, people will support you.".
If he comes back there will be an opportunity to say, by leaving again if you wish, "If you do the wrong things, people will not support you.".
If we do nothing however, then we will have done nothing.

I'm willing to get on board even if most of my requests have been unheard, it may encourage them in that direction.

Publicly returning and showing support for good decisions is huge.

nah. ignoring not having any actual free time to even play, i just don't find the idea of arm fun. i play it to go on cool adventures and do cool things, which require spending time on the order of days played doing repetitive, unfun things just to get to that point. there's a million other things out there i could play instead which don't require dumping days of effort to have fun that'll scratch that itch.
