What the fuck is wrong with Armageddon?

u guys know that they will never admit that Nyr leaving caused this spike in logins. players started voting again and got themselves a solid lead on Top Mud Sites about a week before Nyr left, and have maintained second place through November so far. they will point to that as the reason, not nyr.

i myself think nyr leaving inspired the gdb to keep voting in November but they'll never cop to that shite. they'll never admit something might have been wrong with their staffing choices. so no, they will not recognize that dumping the rest of the problem staff will help.

I was banned by Nessalin for posting here. Although, I never made much of an attempt to hide who I was, from anyone with a brain who could see my account notes. The irony is that, as @oldtwink can attest, I was pretty restrained around here, and even defended the game on occasion. I only stopped giving a shit, and evidently began posting bluntly enough to earn his displeasure, when he handled a legitimate staff complaint of mine in an extremely abusive and corrupt fashion.

As ever, Armageddon's staff is adept at making a wasteland and calling it peace. If they'd treated me with even a hint of basic human dignity, I'd have just continued keeping my head down and playing in Kurac.

Game would probably have twice the population it does now, if staff could ever bring themselves to back the fuck off and realize they are so far from being the most important factor in Armageddon. They are a tangential nuisance that get in the way of other's fun, more than anything else. (And no, I'm not referring to ye olde bright-eyed newbie storyteller who starts out great but gets rapidly burned out and jaded. They were always nice for the little while they lasted). The game doesn't need to keep pulling the best leaders in game to staff, where they're ruined. It just needed some administrators, builders, a few people with some basic grasp of an overall vision (Like Halaster or Sanvean for all their many faults) and the common decency to not assfuck people's souls with their tepid, bullshit bureaucracy.

I already quit Armageddon, owing to how abusive and opaque the staff complaint tool is. I had no reason to sugarcoat anything in that thread. No need to protect my character, or my karma. But every single post of mine in the GDB thread was more polite than some of the things that staff themselves (such as Mord, Eury, Nessalin or Nyr) have posted.

I did not abuse people or call them names, or derail the discussion, or make up lies. I did not troll anyone. In a post where I was replying to three other people, I offhandedly referred to Lizzie as a diehard, and asked why she was even participating in the discussion.They were asking why people left. They wanted to know why. What point did it serve for every time someone posted why they left, for Lizzie to hysterically interrupt and spam the thread with how IT'S ALL SO GREAT! Well. Fine. She's well satisfied. After saying so like twenty times, she can fuck off to RAT and not post the exact same response to every complaint raised. I did not call her a cuntsmack.

That Nessalin seized on that as an excuse to ban me, simply offered the perfect example of why I stopped playing Armageddon to begin with. And it's why I find so laughable, the few people that've posted here, 'Gee, sirra, you should've been more obsequious like desertman or so-and-so'. Well. Fuck you. All being obsequious over there ever earned me was a kick in the ass and a condescending pat on the head. Armageddon staff doesn't at this point, deserve anything more than blunt honesty. And someone should call them out for pretending like they want honest answers, only to spam the same thread with a bunch've sandbaggers.

So yes, if after all this time, despite staffers such as Nessalin or Eury offering blistering proof that it will be 'business as usual', no matter that Nyr is (temporarily) gone, you still want to play Armageddon...Fine. Be obsequious and plaintively couch all your qualms in as mild a fashion as possible. You won't get banned. But guess what? They won't take notice either. Or in Eury's immortal words, they'll just tell you 'to have a bro-brew and chillax'.

Honestly, I feel worse for people who still want to play the game after realizing the extent of the player retention thread is to 'have a bro-brew and chillax', than those who get banned. If anyone still thinks that playing Armageddon under the current administration is a good use of their time, they need to find better hobbies. Or buy some cats. Something.

I can't be too much smarter if it took me six years longer to quit for good. Although, in fairness, most of those years were spent in jaded disengagement.

Del had enough alt accounts to have taken 60 - 80 years to quit.

So much so that staff still assume any unidentified multiplayer is Delerak.
