I know I'll find a bit of glee in posting the results in a month or two, the precipitous rise after Nyr's departure. Here are how things stand now though from mudstats (already just 24 hours after the announcement, and of course voting helps, numbers are way way up, not reflected in the charts, of course): Beautiful. Look at the daily logins. You can thank the shadowboard: mudstats.com/World/ArmageddonMUDTwo days into the week and we have 165 unique logins. Two weeks ago for the entire week it was 184.

There's a lot of pissed off people with a lot of complaints. And this board is a great place to come out of isolation and be validated, realizing "Hey, I'm not crazy after all." or "I'm not alone." Release is great because that isolation and abuse can do a lot of emotional damage until there's closure. Are we here getting closure or are re-opening old wounds? But yeah... some of those guys... they owe some apologizes and I doubt many, or anyone here is getting one anytime soon. With that said, no progress is made by reiterating problems. So when it comes to fixing Arm, what's realistic a solution look like? I'm not asking what does justice look like. If we can figure out what's wrong with the game, someone needs to follow through and propose solutions right? If a focus change doesn't occur and we're always looking for what we don't like rather than what will actually make us happy.
What would satisfy disgruntled players and make the game worth your time and energy once again?

Subjective. For many there might not be anything. I'd rather play league or tool around with my own mud then invest time and energy back into Arm again.

Arm does take a lot of energy to get past being a nothing, to even being mediocre, considering the buckets of getting shit on it seems to produce.

If you don't believe that... ha ha... try playing a city elf. If you actually escape, they will shit, so hard, on your account notes, that it isn't funny.

What usually happens with games, when the community has gotten this toxic, is that they eventually split off. With Armageddon, the original creators and those who really inspired what most of us found fun in it, are all pretty much gone. That leaves both halves of a community that feel like they still have a 'right' to it.
Basically, Armageddon has kind've tumbled down this unique path, where no serious alternative has been brought forth. And efforts to try haven't really gotten off the ground. Mostly because there is a lot of grind-work involved in making a mud. By and large, those staffing and controlling Armageddon now did not do that grindwork either.
Other games and genres find it easier to radically separate and see which incarnation proves fittest. WoD mushes do it all the time. But then, mushes are very easy to set up and take down, and really rely more on management techniques than say, hardcore coding.

Those account notes were soul-crushing, though. Did they really expect me to sit still while some homicidal force of psychopathic evil were breathing down my neck?

I've been playing Godwars 2, mostly, waiting for Delerak to get the fuck back into port.

What's wrong with Arm? Well, let's start with something that's sure to be a favorite of mine, and Delerak's, the division of the elven race. It doesn't exist, but it does.

That shit is so laughable it's retarded. They impose c-elf docs on you like they were inborn, yet, you're, at heart, an elf.

I just don't like seeing there's a new post, and expecting to read some intriguing discourse only to find you've posted yet another thing 2 minutes after the last one. :3

I was playing elves while you were still figuring out how not to shit your pants, it never happened, but it was workable, then you started playing Arm, I enjoyed your interactions but at times you smelled like gith, out of courtesy, I never mentioned this to you, but fuck, do you reek.
