If this gith PC tribe only lasts for a few weeks and is streamlined by the staff, nothing will happen. If the gith are allowed to make an impact and at the same time disrupt Allanak, we might see some fun things happening. Allanak needs adversary and Allanak needs to be staff's main focus in regard to improvements and player-requested additions. If we get both a powerful/interesting PC gith tribe and a expanding/focused Allanak, good shit will happen.
guess we'll see

Hey. Here's a thought.
How about you stop whining, like a little BITCH, and actually apply for a Gith instead of complaining like a bunch of self-righteous cunts when staff actually gives you something that you lobbied for, for years. Playable Gith.
Holy shit. You people are the epitome of the worst scum that could come from a twisted fandom of a game like Armageddon. You fucking people cry foul every day, every fucking day, and the second anything good is done, all I see is you dumb pricks jumping onto this burning wagon crying about how this is not how to attract players, or keep players, how players are just an "audience" to Staff plots.
If you weren't a bunch of stupid cunts, you'd know better. But you're just cunts. You will always be cunts. You will never be anything more, because you refuse to grow the fuck up and get over it.
Cunts.
What's wrong with Armageddon? What the fuck is wrong with a game going on 20+ years?
You. YOU are what is wrong with it.

Shh. These cunts fester, letting their swollen folds collect all of the oil, bacteria, and general refuse of their poor etiquette. They're entirely immune to the wafting fumes their nether regions continue to emanate, and are the victimized, the downtrodden, the robust players who were better than everybody else but woefully misunderstood.
I SAY GOOD DAY, SIR.
I didn't read a single post behind this guy's post, but I tend to think most of you are untalented cunts, so I'll just blindly agree with others when they repeat my general sentiments... you smelly cunts.

Hey there Stupid,
You ever hear of the term; too little, too late? Well I'd look it up because it applies now.
You see Gith would have been a great idea, YEARS AGO, when the player-base was actually asking for it. When there were 70+ people in the world, split between two cities and the pah, and were rather bored regularly. They would have been alternative to the Red Fangs, another tribe people were having a lot of fun with but were eventually killed in a rather stupid way if you ask me because, well people where having too much fun with them.
If you think Gith will be an adversary to Allanak, then you must have thought the last spider/scorpion(?) RPT was a real blast too. There have already been plenty of discussions here and in the GDB about why Allanak feels too big to fail at the moment and why that is boring. However most of those argument have been ignored as usual but that is not really the big issue here.
In order to run the current tableland plots for months (if the game last that long), you are draining the tiny population of the last remaining city. During a time where the players who still playing were begging the staff to make that specific place more lively, not kill it. There are people who wanted to see more betray, corruption and murder within the city but instead of that, the tablelands sudden gets a lot of love. Which would be great, if it wasn't for the fact that the players who enjoyed playing in the tablelands disappeared from neglect a long time ago already.
Why try to revive an area that has been dead for years, when an area that still has a population is sick and dying?
There are only 20-30 people in the game at most, that is barely enough to run one city. When new players log in, they will be logging in to an empty and boring city, that means until the city is repopulated the game is in no condition to attract new players. Further-more it alienates the players the game currently has by forcing them into roles they didn't ask for, a lot of people enjoy playing in a lively city after all. There were 70+ people when you had two cities. You close down one and you are down to 50 people and bleeding more, and now you practically kill the other by encouraging its player-base to move to a desolate area.
At this point that plot could very well be the final plot of Armageddon before they close the doors in the game. You think I'm kidding? It would actually be a decent way to end the game with dignity at this point before it hits 5-10 people, ending it all with bang instead of a whimper. Ultimately though, fuck it all, why the hell not at this point, just leave the city for the tablelands plot. That said, I am willing to give them credit, instead of listening to the player-base, they decided to stick to their guns and keep doing their own thing, even if its just one last time. The way the game is being run is currently unsustainable with its current population and a huge gamble on the part of the staff, that alone takes huge balls...or a huge amount of stupidity. Not sure which yet but we'll see in a couple months.
If the game does survive the plots length, something will need to close down: Either the tablelands, Allanak or the game entirely.

While I'm not going to dispute that we're all a bunch of cunts, because for the most part we totally are, I am a bit confused on something.
Who here has actually lobbied for playable gith? It's entirely possible that I missed that thread (or threads, since we've apparently been at it for years), but the search function only pulls up conversations where gith are suggested as handy armor repair and disarm trainers. Little else.

I'll take your word for it @teatowel, because when I last posted was when Nyr was getting the boot, and someone asked me if I was coming back to play. Back then the population was 30-40~. I come back to check in for a bit and have been told the population is now 20-30~. As I said, I'm curious to see what the population looks like in a couple months, after this tableland plot ends. Best of luck til then. heh.

Between the War on Christmas, Obama taking our guns, and Armageddon MUD circling the drain we really are in the darkest hour of American history.

I don't know what calling people cunts is supposed to do. Then in the same breath say play, but it's kind of hilarious. If the game is ok, why do you need more people to play? If we're a bunch of cunts why do you even want us to play? If these boards are so full of bad, why even come here? These are rhetorical questions of course.
See here's the thing, a lot of us are waiting to see what happens here. I think opening the gith was a good move. I also think putting a good storyteller like Rath in the lead was a good move. But the game just wasn't fun for a lot of people, it's going to take a while to get that back.
Saying "play" just isn't going to cut it. When the game is good, we'll know it. You'll let us know it. Throwing tantrums isn't going to do anything for you.

opening up gith, even if it only lasts for a few months, is better than running the same stale plotlines in the same stale city.

We all know the only reason the Gith have been opened are to come and destroy the Borsail compound again.
It's like poetry. It rhymes.

Uhh ... dude? In the last 40 days the groundwork for so many awesome things were laid in, it's incredible. The gith and the convolution in the tablelands. Pretty soon, the AoD will have their hands full with gith trouble. The GMH got their own hands full of their thing.
We'll see if any of that stuff is having a result by somewhere mid to late january. When people are returning from their vacations, etc.

Resistance to criticism is a classic GDB quality though so I understand why you react so vociferously. People post strongly here because you have to walk on eggshells there, so it's nice to be able to blow off some steam for once (it's exactly what the game needed for so long). If you're this opposed to having the decisions of others analysed and would instead favor an environment where everyone shuts up and does as they're told, perhaps you can sign up to be an imm with ghaati the next time there's an opening. Sounds like you'd fit right in there. I can't think of a single player who has suggested gith be reopened. I mean I'm sure someone said it somewhere along the lines but it's hardly a common theme on this board. Some players advocated Tuluk's closure. It's even suggested the imms got the idea to close it from this board....but other posters here oppose it. I'm one of those people. So to say that we collectively wanted something and now that its here we should shut up ans be happy is a pretty big generalization. In fact based on your use of the word, generalizing that way sounds like the very definition of a....cunt.
