Man, some of the stuff I got up to over ten years ago with one of the best characters I've ever had... some of it surely twinkish when you look back, but I was young and still learning. I definitely made some enemies. We also did some amazing things as well. One player we had unfortunately killed like 3 of his PC's. JT was his old alias. Anyone remember him? I always had wanted to write a book about the story of my character and give it to some Save-Knor PC. It would have been a hell of a good read. I regret killing so many PC's tho. Talking about the LK was like talking about fight club. You just didn't do it in public. When people betrayed us, or spoke bad about us, the only way to prevent it we felt at the time was to kill these people and make them afraid of not doing it again. There was definitely a little farmhouse that should be filled with many ghosts of past PC's. It was a LK slaughterhouse. One poor PC had the worst timing. He was on the street of our safehouse when three of us walked out. Our boss managed to convince him to return back to the house after he walked off, and we had to kill him to save him talking and our place being found out. We let him know why before hand, just to hope he wasn't turned off the game for randomly being killed.
Some of the things I got to do... not all in order.
*Started out with small, shitty tenement. Joined Lia-Kavair with twin brother.
*Worked way up to senior member under one of the best leaders I've ever played under.
*Fought against numerous Morgathian followers in the sewers, undead mastiffs and undead priests, helping to rid Tashal of the menace.
*Travelled to Coronan and did some LK jobs there. The trips were always hazardous with tribals and highly dangerous.
*Kidnapped a Kath PC and took her up to Orbaal to trade with the Ivinians. Had to kill a PC Ivinian on the way up who was a blabbermouth.
*Revealed the location of the Agrikan temple in Tashal to the Laranians, who launched a big attack on it.
*Assassinated dozens of PC's, including a Knight of the Shield, Sergeant of the Shield, Sergeant of the Watch, a Sergeant of Lord Bjournson.
*Many good robberies. Bjournson's estate in Tashal was one I believe. There was only a couple places we could never get into if we wanted.
*Broke out of prison from the Bjournson manor, also the Tashal dungeon. Both times spent massive piety to do so.
*Eventually became leader of LK when the boss died.
*Became a priest of Naveh (This was a huge exception since I wasn't captured or born into it). Helped to build the temple in Tashal.
*Fighting in the maze to earn my kill to become a Navehan.
*NoS was one of the best times to play as a Navehan. Some of the kills we had were fantastic too, having spider climb, darkness and sleep.
*Taking a kidnapped baby to the Setha-Heath Naveh Temple. One of the best random plots I've ever been involved in. I was just coming from the sewer safehouse and a fellow Navehan spooked me and dumped this baby on me and gave me my orders. It just happened to be my RL sisters characters baby that had been kidnapped too, that had strong psionic potential. I had no idea OOCly either until after it all happened.
The Pagaelin were nasty to deal with to be able to get past to deliver the baby. Eventually though, as our rep increased with Naveh, we were clanned with them so they wouldn't attack us, because of the semi-worship of Naveh they had.
*I had a few different identities over the years. One a mercenary. The best was impersonating a Knight. We ambushed a Knight coming up from the south, got his signet ring, and his official sealed letter for this new position to serve as Knight of the Chelmarch, and we had to RP burning all of my character's face to make him unrecognizable so the cover would stick, and say I had been ambushed by the Pagaelin. It got boring after this and it's sorta where I stopped playing. I tried some silly kidnapping plot to get money out of Bjournson but it never worked so I returned to Tashal as my normal self...except for being ugly as fuck now.
Anyhow... There was lots of potential in HL... I'd like to hope adventures like this still continue.
