Seriously, you shouldn't get 'karma dropped' for using the basic realism of blind fighting. I'm sure you at least had it as a skill and if you couldn't see those elves, you could probably smell the nasty fuckers. Look at those descriptions. Probably smell like ass. To Abuzer, who's been hanging out with well taken care of Salarri peoples, we're gonna go with that. And besides. Elves, am I right? They -do- deserve to die anyways. Bastards. I'm a fan of your work here. Hope to add my own moniker one day of "He who ended the representation of X Tribe." Only a few greats ever do that.

I just went back a few pages to read this thread. It's depressing that so many people were hating on this guy in this thread. I think some people owe him an apology.
He admitted he twinked hard on abuzer at least and I think those d-elves deserved death. Fucking idiots.

It seems to me like this staffer was using a flaw of DIKI code as some crutch of punishment to act out his grief with Abuzer. There is currently no other way to communicate with the server that you want to "kill" someone, other than typing kill followed by a string of keywords. The shared keyword of his attackers happened to be "elf".
If he had typed "kill hooded.figure" would it have made any difference at all?
How could you tell they had hoods on? You were in a sandstorm!
kill 1.shape kill 2.shape kill 3.shape
Where does it end, exactly? And why were the desert elves given favoritism to have combat in a sandstorm, when Abuzer the dwarf was not?

something to note is i think abuzer rechecked things and discovered the karma wasnt dropped for that incident even tho he was given a warning, that was from the yt comments if not then either way the karma was returned etc etc Where does it end, exactly? And why were the desert elves given favoritism to have combat in a sandstorm, when Abuzer the dwarf was not? well 2 ways to justify that, 1 u have elves that were born and raised their whole life fighting and living in the desert vs. a tough dwarf tor elite who may have some exp in the sands but not to the same extent, and 2 ur original statement/question is moot because the elves didnt even attack when it was too dark or sandy to see, they attacked when u could still see ppl, so favoritism didnt apply since abuzer was the only one who attacked them when they couldnt see each other

If the RP police are truly so schizophrenic as that, then there's really no point in it all.

When you consider some of the incredibly racist things Nessy has said over the years, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. like what? There were a few less than savory references to Koreans made in the IRC channel back in the day, along with a brief smear of comments about arabs in the week after 9/11. He has or had a fetish for Hispanic women of 'large' proportions back then, so it isn't as though he was some hardboiled KKK type like you might imagine when you think of a racist. It might be hard to believe, but there was a time when you could hang around and chat with the staff in a public setting and get to know them as human beings. Sometimes for the better, often for the worse.

I don't remember Abuzer ever being a Tor. That was a different dwarf wasn't it? Abuzer was a Salarri. Log shows his Salarr gear too. Not that it matters but. Jkarr keeps making a big deal about how you should know better than to piss off a Tor. If he wasn't a Tor, then that point is moot. Saw the notes, three negative notes all with one character, maybe that's why he got docked? Plus the karma was returned so that's a moot point too.

I don't remember Abuzer ever being a Tor. thats because either ur memory is shit, u just dont know ur shit, or ur (like usual) trying and failing to troll a thread That was a different dwarf wasn't it? nope lol try harder Abuzer was a Salarri. Log shows his Salarr gear too. oh so he was a salarr scorpion instead? lol my bad The male wearing a thick shell face shield is in excellent condition. <worn on head> a glossy-black, chitinous helmet <worn on face> a thick shell face shield <worn around neck> a dusky chitin neck-guard <slung across back> an agafari-handled, bone-headed pike <worn on left shoulder> a white shoulder strap <worn on arms> a pair of black chitinous sleeves <worn around wrist> a durrit-claw bracer <worn around wrist> a durrit-claw bracer <worn on hands> a bloodied pair of durrit-hide riding gloves <primary hand> an obsidian-headed polished-bone mace <secondary hand> a black-leather and tortoiseshell shield <worn around body> a scorpion-emblazoned, smoky-grey cloak<worn on legs> a set of inix shell greaves <worn on right ankle> a small leather pouch <worn on feet> a pair of knee-high dark leather boots Jkarr keeps making a big deal about how you should know better than to piss off a Tor. jkarr never 'keeps' mentioning shit about pissing off a tor, and only references abuzer being a tor once in those entire discussion as a realistic description (because he was a tough tor) that compared how the dwarf would have less justification than the red fangs for being able to attack at night in a sandstorm. go back under the bridge and grind some more, and take some notes from ur salarr scorpion so u dont fuck that up too

I saw the grey cloak and thought Salarr. Glossed over the scorpion part. So, wasn't me not knowing shit, wasn't faulty memory. I misread. I also had "Tor Scorpion" and "Dwarf" connected as a different dwarf, one that was famous and somewhat recent in the last few years and I couldn't remember his name so I thought you were mistaking the two as well. My bad.

Oh wait, you're a prick troll. Every now and then I gotta remind myself you're not a real person, just Nyr's agitprop presence on this forum.

Even if Abuzer had killed 4 Red Fangs in the way that it was originally described, I wouldn't even give a fuck. Kudos for being a hard motherfucker and pulling it off. Staff docking players karma for doing things they don't approve of isn't what I consider indicative of a bad player and unless I'm either in the shoes of the character, or in on whatever the event is, I tend to reserve ooc judgement.

My bad. I can only think of two other notable dwarves in Tor. Gold was the first dwarf in the Tor Scorpions and a great PC and something of a T'zai Byn legend in his day. Gold ended up fading into obscurity, though to my knowledge, never actually died. Shade was a newbie dwarf warrior who ended up being monster in combat, even for a dwarf. As I understand it, he was originally from a H&S MUD and power gamed like crazy before slowly cluing in to the game. He was very well known for giving spammed teach sessions and being absolutely hilarious to hang around with. He died during foreplay leading up to the overthrow of Allanak in the north, I believe during a raid on a rebellion encampment. A comically incompetent Templar ordered all the Allanak NPC units to kill "Sun" and Shade, who was supposed to be a front man for the engagement, was the first one to die and to friendly fire to boot. My memory is a touch hazy in my old age, but I think it was the same event where the axe-wielding rebel woman, who used to solo kill bahamets with dual wield (Prior to the bahamet nerf. At the time it was actually a really big deal.), finally died. There was more than one Allanak PC having a code brown in their trousers at the prospect of having to fight her, even with overwhelming PC numbers.

Hah. I forgot about Gold I used to talk to that guy on ICQ back in the day. He was The golden dwarf. Then the old golden dwarf. Then I think his last sdesc was The ancient golden dwarf. Could be mistaken on that last one though.
Guy had over 100+ days played and lived for around 6 RL years give or take. He was also Turkish I do believe but memory is hazy. Fakir al Baba I think was his name but I can't remember really.

I find it maddening that the staff would have issues with a twink/powergamer and then let them become a Tor elite.. to me that makes no sense. If they had issues with his powergaming they should address that by not endorsing him into the premiere arguably most honorable fighter title in the game.
