Hello everyone, As some of you know, my name is Jeshin. As some of you know, I am a critic of Armageddon. As some of you don't care, I think you should play Armageddon... For 1 night... On the Tuluki Closure... To give the staff a chance to wow your balls off or re-affirm your opinion of them... Also I think that the final RPT of Tuluk should be like a slasher murder haunted house movie on a city scale, which is why having a bunch of characters make specifically just to enjoy the RPT and not survive is probably your best chance to have a great RPT experience with no frustration or disappointment from losing a character. I said it, be shocked. gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,49266.msg0/boardseen.html#new

But for your OP, I don't think that players can still make characters in Tuluk nowadays, can they? You'd probably have to be close to Tuluk to experience Tuluk end of days RPT.

I didn't even know it was shutting and only last week one of the staffers, (presumably) roleplayed me outta the place and it was pretty bloody good. It was only the following day when I looked on here that it made any sense. I'm interested in your opinions on it all. I wish they weren't shutting it though, I enjoyed that city.

Well there's a mega long list of reasons why people thought it was a good idea to shut it down and some didn't, both here on the GDB, and that's like a whoooooooooole discussion in itself. To make it short - Tuluk was "broken", they tried to fix it up, some will argue that it made it worst, some will argue that it changed nothing, not many will argue that it made it better, so after giving it another chance and realizing that it's just splitting both Staff and players instead of uniting them for better RP opportunities, they're going to shut it down temporarily and concentrate the playerbase in the south.

Yes, I picked up most of that from the posts on here, I won't mind anyway, I haven't played in the south, so I will be starting fresh, and with the mindset I am leaving this forum with tonight, It is a complete restart which is pretty cool. I can imagine a LOT of players will be displeased though, especially if they established a livelihood in that area.

I've always been a Tuluk diehard fanboi but I can also understand where Staff is coming from with that decision. Tuluk has always been 90% "do your own thing" until you can find someone you really mesh it, then it gets kinda cool and even though I've not been entertained by many of the RPTs there (I'm not saying the players didn't do a great job with them, it's just not my "kind" of RPT), people have constantly tried to make it work but once a "leader" dies or leave, it kinda gets dead again for a long while. It just never had the number of characters there it needed to get really going (unless you played in 2006, that's pretty much the "golden age" of Tuluk for many - including myself).

I've been asking them to do this on the GDB for over a year now, and it's been proposed even longer than that and talked about in a few threads. I'm very glad they finally did, though also surprised. I figured if they did anything like this they'd just close starting locations, and shift staff focus to other parts of the world. It must have been a tough decision for staff to do this, especially after recent work done there. I never enjoyed playing in Tuluk so I'm very excited to see more players elsewhere in the world. It seems like it's already taking affect, even though Tuluk isn't closed yet. Though that may just be an initial bump of increased interest because of the announcement. I think it will be good for the game, at the very least for me.
