Anyone care to help compile a more in depth list of the creatures in the game than what is available on the official site?
Name, sdesc, locations found, danger level: Low new character can probably safely hunt. Medium a moderately experienced hunter (5 days played? 10?) can probably hunt without much trouble. High Need to be a very experienced (15-20 days?)hunter to take down. Insane Stuff like Bahamets and Mekillots where you need like a 30+ (that sound about right?) day warrior to take down.
Special abilities they have like poison, knocking you into another room etc.
Materials you can get from skinning them and any known uses for those materials, for example you can make armor out of scrab shell etc.
My personal knowledge is extremely limited and I haven't played in a long while until starting again recently so what I do know is probably outdated. I'll try to get the ball rolling.

Name: Skeet
Sdesc: A knobby-skinned six-legged lizard scrabbles along the ground here.
Desc:
You look down at a knobby-skinned skeet.
The skeet is a knobby-skinned reptile, about a cord tall and quite long, almost six cords from nose to tail. Resembling a thick bodied snake save for the six squat legs that support its weight, its flesh is a mottled brown-black, with a thin strip of ochre scales along the center of its back. Its head is wedge-shaped and its large mouth is equipped with powerful jaws and many sharp teeth. Each of its stubby legs is tipped with four blunt claws for purchase on the rocky terrain of the steppes.
special: bash, rarely
Danger: low
Loc: Scrublands, western Gol Krathu region
materials: meat, chitinous shell
Name: Gortok
Sdesc: A wild, mangy gortok is here, glaring around hungrily.
Desc:
You look down at a wild, mangy gortok.
This wild cur-dog has a poor hide, ranging in color from lighter browns to blacks and reds. The fur has patches missing, perhaps pulled out in brutal fights with other gortok or potential prey, or lost to mange and other diseases or parasites. Its head and neck are thick and massive, with nasty yellow teeth set in very powerful jaws. Its legs are almost comically long and thin in
comparison, though better designed for loping along through the scrub. On occasion, it makes an eerie sound somewhere between a yelp and a howl as it sniffs around in search of meat.
Loc: Scrublands, western Gol Krathu region
Danger Lvl: medium
Special: Despite what Nyr says about npcs not insta attacking ppl, this one does.
Materials: head (which can be broken down into skull, jawbone, teeth), meat, hide (good for nub tanners)
Name: Ritikki
Sdesc: A large insect hops through the tall grass.
Desc:
You look down at an angular ritikki.
This large insectoid, scarcely a cord high, is striped in grassy colors, enabling it to sit unseen among its surroundings. Powerful rear legs impel it in awkward leaps and bounds through the air in search of food. Dark green mandibles at its mouth allow it to pull in the lengths of vegetation on which it survives. Dark green faceted eyes survey its surroundings as it contemplatively chews.
Loc: Grasslands, Eastern Gol Krathu region
Danger Lvl: low
Special: none
Materials: disk of chitin
Name: Ankheg
Sdesc: A gargantuan six-legged insect with an olive-green exoskeleton is here.
Desc: You look up at the olive-green ankheg.
This gargantuan insectoid creature resembles an enormous many-legged worm. Its six legs end in sharp hooks, and its powerful mandibles seem capable of splintering a large tree into pieces. A tough chitinous shell, olive-green in color, covers it's entire body. This gargantuan creature has red glowing eyes, a large mouth lined with rows of chitinous teeth, and two long whip like antennae.
Loc: In a bone strewn cave border of the red desert and the scrublands, south of Tuluk
Danger: Extremely high
Special: none
Materials: Have no clue
Name: Magera
Sdesc: A large, crimson-maned humanoid roams the sands here.
Desc: You look up at a crimson-maned magera.
Standing at a height equivalent to a half-giant, this creature walks with a hunched gait. Its brow is thick and sloped, with numerous ridges running across the length of its skull. A squarish jaw juts out from beneath a thickly muscled face, framed by two long pairs of yellowed fangs that curl about the edges of the jaw. The creature is covered with a thick, crimson fur that coalesces around the head into a bright and unkempt mane of hair.
Loc: south eastern scrublands, south of Tuluk
Danger: medium
Special: disarm, bash
Materials: Have no clue, tend to carry clubs and wear loincloths
Name: Silt Lurker
Sdesc: A four-armed silt lurker.?
Desc: This round black crustacean has a total of six legs that sprout, three
on each side, from the heavily plated main body. Having no visible
eyes, a line of antennae, five in number, forms a mohawk like crest
from front to back, with the front only being called that because that
is where the mouth is. From each side of the mouth sprouts two thick,
armored black limbs, each one equipped with a large, serrated pincer
at the tip.
Loc: Along the coast of the silt.
Gives: a dull-black plate
Danger: Medium-High
Name: Carru
An antlered, golden brown carru is here, nosing at the ground.
You look up at a golden brown carru.
Standing between four and five cords tall, this beast is covered with a thick, tough hide. The hide is darker nearer the head, lightening to almost a creamy golden brown towards the hindquarters. A bony ridge begins at the base of the neck, and follows the spine down its body, tapering from the broad shoulders to the narrow hindquarters. Each of its four powerful legs end in sharp claws, and several dagger-like teeth line its muzzle, with grazing teeth along the front of its mouth. On the
top of its head are a pair of large, forked antlers, with spear-like tips. It noses quietly about and, despite its size, appears docile.
Loc: The Pah, scrublands
Danger: low (young ones), medium (adults)
Special: bash
Materials: rack of antlers, meat, skin
Name: Verrin Hawk
A verrin hawk circles lazily through the air.
You look down at a verrin hawk.
A verrin hawk circles in slow loops through the sky. Plumaged in dark, dusky colors, this large bird's feathers shift from dark greys to bruised purples and browns. A fierce beak, dangerously hooked, rests beneath two glittering obsidian eyes. Its wings span five or six cords.
Loc: grasslands
Danger: low
Special: none
Materials: feathers, meat, beak
Name: Bahamet
An enormous shelled creature tramples the grasses.
You look up at an armored bahamet.
Resembling nothing so much as a tiny moving hill, this enormous
shelled creature stands ten cords in height. Its shell is a dusty,
mottled brown splashed with streaks of green and gold. A tiny head peers out from beneath the shell, gazing suspiciously around itself with beady eyes.
Loc: grasslands
Danger: very high
Special: none
Materials: head, meat, some chunks of shell
Name: Gizhat
A massive, red-furred creature forages on the grass here.
You look up at a crimson-furred gizhat.
Four squat legs branch out of the massive torso of this mammalian creature. It is large, stretching well past eight cords in length, and has a large dorsal fin that runs the length of its back. A broad, flat tail follows it. A thick layer of fine, silken fur drapes across the creature except for along the face, where the skin has hardened into a protective layer of armor. Thick ridges of cartilage run along either side of the snout and up, circling the eyes before disappearing into the cheek.
Loc: grasslands
Danger: medium
Special: bash
Materials: ridge, meat, fur
Feel free to correct me or supply stuff I don't remember.
