Welcome aboard, my friend. I've been wondering when you would finally throw in the towel. Good times we've had with past characters. Though mostly Dargan on my end, as long as I had that old stump.
But Dargan and Merrick...would have been a lot of fun if we'd actually been able to accomplish something like building or buying that wagon. But of course not..how silly for thinking you could accomplish something in that mud.
Dargan and Brot...good times, buddy. Good times. The kryl campaign was a ton of fun.

i never had a problem with Ness personally, but I'd heard he was an asshole from reliable sources. he was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to say, and why i finally quit the game the first time as a staffer. Yeah, the staff environment is a high school simulator where there aren't any teachers. And it's cliquey and visionless and frought with abuse. But what made me finally quit was something Ness said that made me realize neither he nor Sanvean were even remotely aware of what was going on in the game. between players and storytellers, you had one idea of the game's direction. At the admin level it seemed like a guessing game. but at the producer level (which was called Highlord in my day), the vision was so poorly communicated and (in fact) utterly non-0existent in the game, that I lost all hope that the system could ever be salvaged. if I ever do out myself, i'll have to go into what Ness stated an opinion on. No part of it was hostile; i was driven mad by the revelation, like people playing Call of Cthulhu for the first time who read a curious book the GM mentions them noticing. Could you pm me what he said? I have a feeling I already know what you're going to say he said though. no, Im keeping my identity hidden for the sake of a couple other people. When that's no longer a problem Ill post it on the board somewhere and PM you about it. Keep in mind this discussion would have happened 14+ years ago. and yet still seems so relevant today.

Wait, no shit? The pretty golden haired Merrick from about 2010? >.> If so... I was that whiran in the Pah with the weird little 'tribe' he was introduced to. Also, he was awesome.

Heh, no. Merric, with no k, was a merchant in Tuluk, first indep with a group of likeminded souls. Later, the whole group joined Kassigarh as a unit with a new noble. It was probably late 2008 or early 2009, but thats only a guess.

Ooops. I screwed up Merric and put a K on it. Shows how awesome my memory is. He was a merchant that was in the indie crew Dargan was in. We also had Dargan (warrior/hunter) and two rangers. All four of us very experienced players. It was sickening how much coin Merric could produce with two rangers and a warrior feeding him raw materials. That was when we tried to buy or make a wagon. At one point Dargan had 50,000 coins in the bank. Merric was a fucking machine with the crafting.
