In my experience it is as thus...
Your attractiveness is improved by setting your description locations. Thus setting your 'groin' description had a mechanical reward to it. You can be as descriptive or non-descriptive as you like. The secondary purpose for this is if you wear or remove clothes it will appropriately cover the descriptions linked to locations.
So no you are not required to describe your groin. You are reward in improved attractiveness for having your descs done. It also serves some minor coded purpose for clothing/equipment due to coverage code.

Vagina: A cleanly shaven vagina which does not smell fishy Vagina2: A woman's nether region with a neatly trimmed patch of <insert color> hair Vagina3: A wild bush covering the womanhood of this person
Cock: An average sized cock with unkempt curly hair Cock2: An under-sized flacid phallus with a neatly trimmed patch of hair Cock3: A man's cock and balls

Does it really make you describe your vagina? I created a character once and had a similar experience to yours, being annoyed by the cup size and the out of 10 "attractiveness" rating, but I didn't remember that. I wouldn't be surprised if I'd just blocked out the terrible, terrible memory, though. I mean, if this were any other game I would assume right away that it was an exaggeration. I think it says a lot that I'm even entertaining the idea that the game forces you to describe your ladyparts. It doesn't force you, it's an option. It did raise my attractiveness score by describing it. I did it just to say I described my toto on a game. There's a slot to describe your ass too. I assume it's pretty similar for guys. I'm always leery of games where charismatic type things are a factor, because there's always someone who has those things maxed out and they have the personality of a brick and expect everything to stop when their PC enters a room. This game tripped off a bunch of red flags almost immediately upon hitting the grid. 1) wtf am I holding something that can get me in trouble as a newbie to start off with. Rem and drop don't work, not very intuitive. 2) people being all up in your grill as soon as you go ic...almost like they were waiting for you or likes to poach noobs. 3) the person designated to help you isn't interested in helping you ic or ooc. 4) lack of relevant info or discussion on your own forum says a lot about your game, gdb comes dangerously close to this, but isn't anywhere near that bad. there was nothing helpful on their forums.

And what the meta response would be, from other players. Could I use it in a short-desc? The average-dicked mantemplar enters from the south.

I was halfway through a write up and my tablet farted (it doesnt always play well with this board). So here's the streamlined version:
I've been playing Burning Post II lately and been kind of enjoying myself. I'll probably update this in the future. It seems to be the love child of Mud and Mush, that might be a bad thing for some but its ideal of me. If you're more of the "spamcraft, go out and kill the scrab, I've played 200 characters in one year, I'm against everything cause...conflict" type of player, you probably want to stop reading now.
My experience:
It's truly classless, there's a nice mix of combat and craft skills. If you want to play a badass warrior from the hills you can. If you want to play a pretty perfect blonde weaver woman you can. If you want to play a noble...you kinda can, but you have to run that by staff.
You can start off as a badass straight out of chargen, you'd probably be a min-maxxed one trick pony, but hey its doable.
The theme is sort of medieval/inquisition, so most people are pretty polite on the surface. But even on the surface, sekrits abound. They even have an 'rinth like anything goes type area called Oceanwall, where people aren't polite and they do bleed over. Just keep in mind its called Burning Post for a reason.
Staff are right there and they're pretty chatty. They're accessible and pretty accommodating, though it did take me a while to get something I felt was pretty reasonable, I eventually got it.
You can customize your clothing or armor in chargen. I've always liked this concept.
You dont have to describe yourself fully in chargen. I guess this is alright if you're the try it before you get serious type, but every once in a while you'll run into someone with a shitty sdesc or no desc which is a little jarring.
It has an attractiveness scale. Ive always had a quibble with this, because attractiveness is mostly subjective and during medieval times well there weren't too many model type people walking around. Here most people are 7+, although it doesn't seem to really effect rp.
The docs and helpfiles really don't match whats going on. From reading you'd get the impression that there is a war going on and that certain races are unacceptable, there's an inquistion, etc. Nope, all thats over...now theres magical portals and demons and shit. So the game seems to be in a transition now, with a new arc starting up. I can see how this would be good for some and bad from others. Its a pretty loose theme, but if you need to know which direction the sun travels or what the name of the harvest festival is called...gtfo.
The emote system is different. You use slashes instead of tildes, theres no : for emotes. For the most part, people tend to give longer more detailed emotes so expect to wait a minute or two for a pose. But I've seen pretty short, Arm-like poses too. It seems to be a happy medium between purple prose and nod n grunt.
The code is different and the differences can be a little overwhelming. I've been playing for a few weeks and I still dont have everything down.
I love combat, I cant say enough good things about it. Its not as spammy and "moves" are done through emotes called cemotes. The code recognizes keywords like kick, trip, feint, etc and applies those while in combat. So its coded, but very RP friendly and integrated. So you dont have to really worry about posing something and something different happens or you're getting murdered while youre trying to emote throwing out a kick.
Things aren't what they seem, that beautiful blonde weaver? She probably can kick badass hillman's ass in combat and she's probably really a witch and a member of the thieves' guild like organization. So kind of expect to see Mary Sue type characters like that. But you dont have to worry about sitting in your room spamcrafting knives until you can reliably make a simple knife. You get xp from RP, you can apply your xp to skills even while you're RPing. So that could be why Pretty Blonde weaver is good at combat too. The xp gain is on a scale, so learning the basics of a skill is faster than say mastering it.
There are ooc channels. Yeah...ur immersions iz broke. The good thing about it is you can turn off the ooc channel if it gets too spammy and random. It can also be used to get people together for RP. The bad thing is most of the time its spammy and random. I've run into "ummm...yeah...gonna smoke this weed real quick can't RP with you right now...lol" when trying to get people together a couple of times so far, so I expect thats a norm.
There's also multiplaying. Also not a fan of this, but people do it even when its not allowed, so its probably better to allow it openly. Its a little jarring to be RPing with someone and they're like OOC: "Sorry, theres another scene with my alt too!" But I have to admit, I'm tempted to start another character to explore the dark side of the game.
All in all, its a different kind of MUD. Definitely worth trying out imo, even if you don't stay very long.

How active is Burning Post? My interest is piqued, if only because I've got a real itch to play an RPI and I've spent too long assuming Arm was the only one worth my time.

Not bad, depending on the size of the game world. There are some things about it that I find intriguing, so I'll probably have to give it a shot.

Sooo, is FutureMUD dead? Their forum is now in spambot limbo and Japheth has apparently abandoned the project.

No, his wife recently got pregnant. He said he'd still work on the game, and then total radio silence since. They were supposed to open a few months back and then they basically just didn't, and no information since. Haha, my bad. Only ever looked on that forum once... Either way, needing some spur of the moment time off sounds pretty normal.
