Armageddon isn't like a dude who's about to make you cum, but instead pulls out. It's like getting gang raped by a pack of hive minded, pudgy, angry nerds with pantyhoses on their heads while a half dozen teenagers and Tweens who they've given karma and who have played the game 1/10 the time you have all furiously masturbate as they watch. Suppressed gag reflex, indeed. and tey al finysh 2 fast tehn find sumthyng els 2 do. 2 fast 2 furyus. and then gone in 60 seconds

Just to re-rail this thread before I add to it, remember: I kinda got this idea while watching people on the gdb politly shalacking Nyr and the staff. so in honor of all those folks who still havent escaped to this board. and who risk their karma and accounts not taking it like a bitch. Im gonna dedicate this thread to you. Even if youre normally an apologist, fanboy, or retarded, if you say something rebellious or unironicly worth immortalizing before the staff redact it, here it'll go. (i say this mostly because the idea of seeing if someone is normally a dick prior to giving them this small honor bores the shit outof me.) It's supposed to be a thread for stuff from the GDB where they players show some balls. I know RGS is over here at this point, but posts threads like the one I'm quoting are going to turn him into a permanent resident. gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,49543.50.html

It was a good and valid idea which need discussion but... As always people get so emotional about ARM. It's not helpful to be emotional about an argument. It loses rationality and somewhat validity of your point. That thread was not fun to read to say the least.
For that thread and similars;
As a person who works for 12 years in large office jobs, it's hard for me to understand when someone says something like: "I gave a great idea, and most people agree with me, but it is not implemented by the staff."
That's not how things work in my world. Even when owners of an establishment demands some changes, those things simply may never get done by employers. Save in a game run by volunteers whom has no legal obligation to players. Things and rules may change even in most conservative institution, but it takes time and effort. You open a discussion and people speak. Then after a while, you add another point of same discussion and idea evolves. If that idea is accepted by community then there may be a change. It's a boring and demanding process, especially in old establishments. Also only communication available with writing does not help speeding up things. But getting emotional about idiots or misunderstandings does not help. Anyway, that thread was a nice one, but turned into another miscommunication junk.

Alleys, one could argue that the recent improvements in staff disposition and approach can be linked to this forum. I would certainly be suspicious if the entire Armageddon staff claimed that no decisions were influenced by any discussions that were presented here.

As a person who works for 12 years in large office jobs, it's hard for me to understand when someone says something like: "I gave a great idea, and most people agree with me, but it is not implemented by the staff." That's not how things work in my world. Even when owners of an establishment demands some changes, those things simply may never get done by employers. That's fair. What also happens in the corporate world is nobody allocating time to implement a known solution to a known problem, because someone with sway in management is too distracted by a possible $10K profit to address a looming $50K profit loss + customer churn because there isn't a bonus attached to dodging a loss for them. Some of those suggestions people are pissed about not going in are simple fixes. The staff have chosen to piss away time on things like accurate moon cycles; meanwhile there are simple fixes they could be putting in for coding oversights (e.g. auto-unfollow upon leader climb-check) that result in character deaths and refusals to resurrect the characters. People being angry at a misallocation of time that causes them personal loss(es) isn't something foreign to the business world or unjustified in it. Save in a game run by volunteers whom has no legal obligation to players. UNPAID volunteers! SAY IT RIGHT! SAAAAYYYY IITTTTTT RRRIIIIGGGGHHHTTTTTT!!!111!one!

So genious plan of getting rid of an IMM whom has extremely bad relations with so many players, is spitting at him until he is drown... right? Get on staff, earn their trust, then betray them by making them look incompetent to the rest of the staff. This is probably a method senior staff is very familiar with so it may be a challenging strategy to employ.

Delirium sums many of my thoughts on Armageddon in a post in the "player/staff divide" thread on the GDB:
