I've played this game since the time of the founders, and there have been some exceptional people in it. But for years, the game has been ruled by the losers: Sanvean, Nessalin, Halaster, Bhagarva, now Nyr. Adhira probably too, but I don't know.
How did the controlling, unimaginative self-centered cheats take power?
Because every single person of worth eventually moves on and becomes worthy in some area of life that matters. You're left with the stagnation. The slime.
And Zalanthas is a harsh place with nasty, petty people. This requires enlightened and wise admins, but they're just not.
However much potential Armageddon ever had, that potential was in your imagination all along. It was you, the very shining person reading this, your beautiful mind projecting your lovely imagination what should have been a blank page, a sandbox where you could play harmoniously with others. But Armageddon hasn't been that for nearly two decades.
It's a crutch. You should take your energies and spend them on something that is worthy of them. You can't win, and your imagination and enthusiasm will be shit upon if you try to bring your unique contribution to the game. You only get 'rewarded' if your imagination begins to conform to the limited and cliched vision of various less imaginative human beings. What an awful price to pay.
Think of how much of your attention is sucked into this little black hole. In class, at night before you go to sleep.
And that is probably what you resent the most. That you fell for it, that you unconsciously gave them that much of your heart and mind. You've typed so much you probably could have written two or three novels and be living off a small fan base by now.
And your writing would be better than "Cat Rambo" insipid middle-aged fantasy drivel. How many of your ideas did she steal I wonder and then subtly and jealously push you away from?
I look forward to a time that is coming soon where role playing of the quality some people on Armageddon lived up to will be a norm in the mainstream. It's coming very quickly. Armageddon was ahead of its time but remember that not one of the losers in control of it now were responsible for its inception. Those brilliant souls have moved on to BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS.
And your brilliant souls should to.
I have always thought highly of anyone rebellious enough to call staff out on their shit. But the structure of the game doesn't allow them to see players as human beings. Players are a resource to be consumed so that the game can continue leeching off of brilliant imaginations.
Too many staff have been perverts for me to trust them, and those that weren't stood by and allowed them to be. I know at least a dozen people who were driven away from the mud that if they had been staff...
... but why waste my imagination on 'if'. That's the point really. There is no if, no potential. Armageddon is a sad, sad waste. Like an abusive relationship you need to get out of.
Good luck my friends. I'm out.
