Ok, so given this... Sorcerer: -2, 0, 2, -2 Burglar: 0, 1, 0, 0 Pick Pocket: 0, 2, 0, 0 Warrior: 1, 0, -1, 1 Ranger: 0, 0, 1, 1 Merchant: 0, 0, 1, 1 Assassin: 0, 0, 0, 0 All Elementalists: 0, 0, 1, 0 Courtesy of Barka! ty What stat allocation do people normally run with on char gen for each guild? Thoughts on racial modifiers factoring into this? Dwarf warrior will be thick as shit, half-elf warrior will be pretty balanced... etc Particularly interested in allocation though Also, parting question. If I roll a younger char and wait until middle age will my stats then be the same as if I had rolled that same char at middle age? I guess what that question is getting at is, if I roll a younger char will I be negatively impacted in the long run?

I'm thinking you want a character in their early-mid 20's if you're rolling an agility or strength based character. That gives seems to give a good balance between strength and agility. Agility seems to start dropping off around 27-28.

But if I roll a 13 year old char and wait until I'm 20 will my stats be usable and normal?

But if I roll a 13 year old char and wait until I'm 20 will my stats be usable and normal? I believe Morg fixed aging code years ago. So the age effects on stats are all normalized, and it just works from your base rolls coming out the Hall of Kings. Although, I don't know if it accounts for guild+age stat changes putting you over the racial limits. For example Pickpocket at 13. Certainly no agility penalty at 13. Pick pockets get a +2. Let's say you roll an 18 agility. +2. so 20? No it's 19. That's the human racial limit. Part of the guild buff is wasted. Same character but they started at 20. Rolled an 18 for agility. Pickpockets get a +2. 20 year olds have lets just say a -1 on agility. They'd still have a 19. Still have an AI agility at 20. The 13 year old would age to 20, and end up with an 18. The example could be the case, or Morg could of accounted for all of this. Maybe he has code limitations though. The other 3 stats will be nowhere close to 19, due to age. Agility might be gimped, if you get a high roll for it. I've never seen a 13 year old character age to 14 and keep an AI agility though. To be fair, I haven't played a lot of 13 year olds.

So you're saying that if you roll up a younger char and wait until you're older your str, end and wis won't scale up properly and won't reach the levels they should, or that Morg fixed that and now it should scale properly?

No the not-agility stats should be fine. They will scale perfectly, because Morg has fixed that. Agility, if you roll high, would possibly be gimped. On pick-pockets it's very likely, if racial stat limits stop extra points. I don't know if the code Morg put in for aging is robust enough to not have that problem though. SO it is -possibly- the case. I've never had a 13 year old age to 14 and keep their AI agility though. There isn't anything else, I could think of, that starting at 13 makes you weaker in, long term.

Awesome, that's a massive help! Also, props for the numerical explanation, seriously cool stuff ^.^

Humans < 19 young 20-29 young adult 30-40 adult 41-60 middle aged 61-80 old > 81 ancient
The other races have seemingly random points they change their age categories. Dwarves stay youthful forever basically
