What are your favorite recipes for failing at advanced skill level? Pick any craft. Anything that doesn't loose materials when you fail. IDK any off hand though. |

for component crafting, I like the hunk of unpolished amethyst with the two bits of cloudy white quartz that makes the violet pendant. it fails often and hard, but the materials are relatively easy to forage.

(sigh) not great advice but, it'll keep you entertained while you try.
Also I've heard, that crafting fat or lard, into soap will up your bandage-making skill... somehow?

(sigh) not great advice but, it'll keep you entertained while you try. Also I've heard, that crafting fat or lard, into soap will up your bandage-making skill... somehow? It's the brewing skill that making soap works with. The thing is you don't really fail at making cures at least so really you're skilling up brew for the sake of having stuff on your sheet at a high level. you skill up bandage making by making the more specialized bandages ie sandcloth, herb-steeped and splints. You can still fail at the herb-steeped bandages at advanced levels. i noticed people don't like to share crafting recipes for some reason. |

herb-steeped is a sandcloth bandage and scattering of spotted leaves
salve-covered is a linen bandage and that sap leaf
sandcloth bandage is made out of a length of white sandcloth
linen bandages is made out of a length of white linen

How do you make splints? Anybody? I know the herb-steeped and salve-covered bandages. So yeah, how do you make splints? Splints are made with some combination of branches and white linen lengths. |

The crafting list is very short on this GDB in all honesty. There must be thousands of craft recipes out there but either we've forgotten them, haven't played many merchants, or are HOARDING our SECRETS  Incoming dwarf merchant with a focus to make and own one of everything that exists. |

The recipe for a splint is in the help file. Sadly, all you need are plain bandages, the herbal ones if somebody is really jacked up. All the other ones are really just for flavor. I'm still waiting for crossbow bolt recipes. |

I REALLY want the option to make crossbow bolts. I really want to make crossbows more feasible to use even. The whole, no delay to fire a loaded crossbow has some definite possibilities.

I had a concept I've been kicking around that involves crossbows, not being able to make bolts kind of would hamper it. Makes me wonder how many concepts get stifled because people don't know how to do something codedly. On a crafting note I see quite a few crafts from the recipe thread available for sale, so somebody's using the recipes. Which is a good thing, more stuff to buy. |
