The naive little girl routine isn't uncommon, even now, but no one has brought the pedophiles to the yard like Riandra did. That story is fucking amazing, 10 out of 10.

Why are girl and boy not allowed in the sdesc anymore? I know they used to be allowed. I don't think I've ever tried to use them, but I have seen them in the past. Strangely "lad" is still allowed. Maybe try "lass"? There was a log going around at the time where he was referring to her player as his "cute one" and the two of them discussing the in-game events and how they were going to handle things or deal with other players. This log came out after it was revealed that the player of Riandra was not a saucy french woman, but in fact a man named Danial from Quebec. Oh man. That takes me back. i definitely remember R being a typical man-playing-a-lesbian character. I forgot he worked the other side of the street a little. What I remember best was that player was a drama-causing emotional basket case. Didnt he get banned? Side topic. I sometimes wonder what the ratio of a) heterosexual male players with lesbian f-mes (who think they're being clever) is versus b) actual female players with characters that swing that way. then I laugh to myself about it.

What's sad is that I, too, am a drama causing emotional basket case, IRL and IC with most of my pcs. I fall into the actual female player with characters that swing that way bracket, though, rather than the first. Though more skewed straight than not, there were several bisexual and a handful of lesbian pcs I've had. >.> Call it a reflection of being pansexual as a player, I guess.

I'm not sure what happened to him. I know he stuck around for at least a short time, as he was involved with one of Callisto's more notorious militia characters. He played her adopted daughter, who was again a nubile young beauty, but this time an elemental of some kind. I believe she was a Nilazi, but it may have been a Drovian. Supposedly, he had some kind of break down and never quite recovered all his lost marbles, but this is all hearsay. As for your side topic, I know of eleven female players, including Anaiah and myself. Even if you were to double that, or triple it, it wouldn't account for the number of beautiful bombshell PCs with a taste for clam we see so regularly, so I suspect the number of men assuming the role is quite high. I, personally, throw those conventions right out the window and have my characters pursue more Zalanthan brands of attraction; wealth, talent, fitness, strength of will, cunning and determination, or other things a survivor would find attractive in a barren, dying world. The slender beauty and strapping young man are irrelevant icons in the genderqueer world of Zalanthas. For my characters preferences, a ratio between male and female partners, everything from tribal mates to live-in hookups to noble bed-alliances / marriages, would be about 40/60 male/female in percentages. I have never attempted to marry a noble of the same gender, nor do I know if it is even possible from a legal point of view.

It is. The Uaptal npc I had made up to bring into the Sanctuary for interactions with the northie noble pcs was married to another female, only with that deal it wasn't children but training and information being exchanged.

I, a man, solve the whole 'all lesbians are dudes' thing by giving my femmes the ame preferences as my male characters: slim, curvy, lovely people.
They do end up collectively celibate, but I can live with that.

The keywords girl and boy were not banned due to anything sexual in nature. There are entire sex-themed MUSHes out there which cater to any number of fantasy which would be extremely illegal to partake of in the real world. You are allowed to enact whatever you want in a consented text-based world. The keywords were banned because Sanvean and Nessalin both agreed at the time that players tended to misinterpret how younger people would behave/be treated on zalanthas. Characters with boy/girl sdescs were essentially given special treatment everywhere they went simply due to their sdesc. Even if it was not intentional on their part, the rest of the playerbase treated them as though they were cute and cuddly in a world where at best an actual boy/girl of 8 years old might be pampered, but certainly not a teenager treated by society as an adult. It was at this point that various alternative keywords were given the green light, such as youth or teenager, etc (though I cringe when I see slang words such as lass and lad allowed, especially since they invoke just as much innocence and implied babiness as the words boy and girl).

Yeah that was Samoa. That was the PC who lived in that warehouse near the end of Miner's where the Templar quarter is, on the south side of the street. Had a perpetual rosebush in the outer yard that always bloomed and a perma-dark room inside. She liked hanging out on the Barrel balcony. Riandra was definitely IvoryAngel. He got banned for some serious inability to seperate real life from fantasy. He went batshit crazy in IRC for months on Pearl's player saying how they were meant to be, or some really weird shit like that. Not just harrassing her but "roleplaying" in the channel not getting that was OOC channel, like he thought the shit was real or something. He was banned from Arm first though. Then he got banned from IRC chat.

I can't help but laugh at how serious Arm is for some people.
But back on the topic, I remember there was a PC that "appeared" to be a little girl, but was really a halfling. She would lure people outside, kill them and eat them. How's that for pedo-justice?

As far as Nilazi girl masquerading as a Drovian and a pet of the templarate that was Samoa/Zhaira's PC iirc. That was a different character, I believe. From what I'm told, Danial's character was killed by that Salarri Templar right after Ysania's players Templar was murdered by Borsail in a locked room with muls, or at least that was the story that got around. There were three people working together, making a play for power in Allanak; Callisto's militia Captain (I think, it may have been higher), the above mentioned Templar and Danial's magicker. This was at the time there was undead roaming the streets of Allanak, searching for a golden-skulled wand or something to that effect, if anyone remembers that disaster of a plot. What originally happened was the soldier bought something or other that Pearl claimed was Borsail property and started calling (a high ranking member of the militia) a thief in public, only to be declared treasonous by a Tor Warlady in the Traders. This was a token show of the conflict that existed between the noble Houses, who were all very much in perpetual and aggressive competition. You see, Borsail (who's current top dog noble was played by, I believe, Clegane at the time) was in the process of helping to raise Oash to the second most prominent position in Allanak, over Tor, whom Borsail was feuding with over "politics". With Pearl making her claim against a high ranking soldier, along with the War Lady leveling an accusation of treason at her, it really hurt Borsail's efforts and ultimately Tor would hold it's place against Oash because of it. At this point, another, female Borsail, arrived on the scene and began courting Callisto's soldier almost immediately out of creation for reasons unknown, while Borsail started exerting it's influence to control her commanding Templar, leading to a great deal of innuendo across the board. I'm hazy on how it all come to a head, but in the end the the Templar, magicker and the female Borsail all ended up going the way of the dodo. Pearl only survived the encounter, which at one point involved a Red Robe showing up to investigate her for treason, because she was Sanvean's current female favorite and I believe we all know how that turned out for the both of them. The soldier survived the encounter thanks to, I'm told, the War Lady at the time having an infatuation with her and she later retired by accepting a promotion, or that was the story I heard from the clan staff at the time. I'm not sure what Danial's GDB was later on, but originally it was littleocotilloeater, based on Riandra's favorite food being roasted ocotillo's. His is a cautionary tale, if ever there was one.
