This is funny because I have no doubt that there are cliques in the community that play this way. Sure you can develop IC concern for another PC but there are players who will without any concern for separating the OOC fact of it being a PC try to save them from death. What is worse when I played NPCs are pretty much completely ignored in the game. A good example is the Byn. They had a rule at some pointn that you had to salute all Sergeants and above. Well scattered throughout the compound were plenty of sergeant/lt NPCs. There is an LT NPC in one of the drill yards if I recall. Well they were always ignored and this bothered me so I started saluting them. I actually got reprimanded by my sergeant at the time for doing it and I argued with him forever about it, the guy was a complete douche noob that had no concept of what I was trying to get at but I guess I went about the wrong way, I do that a lot. I guess what I am trying to say is there are far too many BAD players at arm in my eyes who just play in their whole little world and if they can't have it their way they have no problem just leaving the game. That always bothered me too because when I was playing there I felt more like a part of the community than just playing a game and who doesn't want that?
A lot of players just play the game with no care in the world about what goes on mechanically or the OOC aspect of the game and that bothers me I guess.

I hear ya, but that's why I wouldn't recommend the Byn to new players. It's like a really bad shounen at times, depending on who's in it.

BitterFlashback, in reference to your post. Paralyzing someone still leaves them capable of wayying and looking. They can in fact >look you;contact avengers The only way around it would be to RP blindfolding them but then you'd have to have a player who'd be responsible enough to actually play along and that's ..well. Rather hit or miss sadly. actually can anyone verify if someone is afflicted with peraine or heramide, and you attack them or poison them with something else, does it negate / shake off the initial poison? I'm thinking like if you perained a dude, then RP'd slapping him repeatedly and non-lethally to keep him from using the way so you could drag out your terrorization of them a bit Or like if you combo'd heramide and then grishen to put them out cold and then tick their stamina down so it takes longer for them to wake up allowing you to drag them off to your lair.

I've never seen a problem with not saluting the NPC sergeants, or whatever.
Documentation on who the NPCs even are is hard to find, for one, and secondly, it's super annoying to have to stop and salute every time you pass through that one room (tm). Sometimes it's just easier to assume that you don't notice the NPC among the crowd of vNPCs, or something.

Well that limits how non-lethal you can be if you wanna go as an unknown. actually can anyone verify if someone is afflicted with peraine or heramide, and you attack them or poison them with something else, does it negate / shake off the initial poison? The way the code used to work was it could only support you being poisoned by one thing at a time. if IIRC. So you could cure a deadly poison by poisoning yourself with something less severe. Dunno if this is still the case. Itd be easy to test though. Take a bloodburn and chase it with that milder of the two hallucinogens. Or vice versa.

I have taken a purple tablet (skellebain), followed by a sticky black globule (peraine) before. I was frozen -and- hallucinating. So perhaps at least these poisons stack. Or at least edible versions. In that order. Haven't tested others.

Yeah. When I heard about Viv poison stacking I figured they fnially got around to fixing that feature. But then I thought it might work differently because it's a spell effect. sorry to hear they got around to that.

Nobodies plot is more important than anothers. The story that is stuck in my mind is the jackass who tried to rape a girl and then the staff used npcs to block her attempts at revenge cause he was scripted to die at a later date. (suspected, I only know what she said in her story). As I see it her mistake was not getting a crew and just dogpilling the guy and the npcs.
I wonder how many players fighting in the same room it would take to bring the server to its knees?

I never understood the drama over rape in the game anyway. This is a hardcore MUD where if you are anything but a Noble, you are effectively worthless. I've seen so many cry-rape plots from random commoner PCs it made me sick.

Feck always reminds me of taff in the thief series (Barring the railroaded bs new one). That's how I deal with that nonsense anyway.
