Normal sorcerers dont get possess corpse. Though as story unfolds and various decisions are made, actions done, sins comitted, lots of shit can happen.

For overall playability would you rather pick Warrior or Ranger ? just between those two. Also interested to know what the caps on same/skills they share would be.
I'm sure Rangers would end up branching way more skills in the long run, but would they ever compare to the sheer power of the warrior?
Also what would be your ideal subguild to go with?

Playability Half-giants are a lot of fun in the relatively short term. (Don't think I could play one for like 6 months straight though.) Essentially, you get to say/do all sorts of inappropriate things that no other player could. I once had a HG straight-up insult a Lord in front of a couple Templar (not realizing IC/OOC that they were a noble) and it was taken in stride. They're one of the easiest roles to amuse yourself (and others) with. You get to do just about anything that pops into your head. Just make sure you're doing it cleverly, and not just straight up acting moronic - that can be tedious to all around you.
They're one of the easiest roles to get involved and start having fun with. From the moment you walk into the bar from the Hall of Kings, people are going to be trying to get you to join their clan. (Mostly by offering you food...) You don't have to take them up on their offer just because you're dumb. If you want to join a GMH but the AOD gets to you first, just tell them you don't like hurting people, only animals. If you want to be an indie, tell people you're working for a VNPC and go do your thing. You're here to play YOUR character, after all.
People will try to manipulate you in other ways as well, but there are easy RP-consistent ways to defend against manipulation as well. For instance, you can have beliefs so deeply ingrained in you that you won't break them. If the aforementioned Rumble is the character I think he was, I recall a scene of him preaching, essentially, pacifism in the face of "hey, help us kill X" manipulation. Also, just because you're gullible doesn't mean you can be conned by just anyone. If some random guy in a bar tells you gurth can fly, you have every right to be suspicious, or in flat-out disbelief, of this information. If one of your close and trusted friends tell you gurth can fly, you might be inclined to believe him.
Classes Warrior / Ranger are your best bet. Most HGs wind up as hunters, guards, or soldiers. Hunter is a good sub for Warriors because it makes them viable hunters. If you're a Ranger, the Guard sub will give you subdue (if you want to join the AOD/Legion), or Thug will give you kick/sap to add to your offensiveness. You could also take up crafting sub, though I think HG stats play against crafting.
Merchant - I don't think I've ever seen this done. Your high strength and endurance means you should be able to kill a good deal of things with ease, so you will be able to collect your own materials and make some bank pretty easily. Really with HGs anything that doesn't hit terribly hard or isn't terribly fast at dodging will be a piece of cake. High strength means you only have to hit it 2-3 times, and high endurance/HP will help you hang around long enough to do so, even if your defense is lacking.
Magickers - HG magickers get 50 mana. That's enough to cast one spell at a time. You're a giant, so your strength/endurance score will pull you through a lot of things, so technically anything is viable, but I'm going to speak solely to skill synergy.
Elkrosians and Krathis are based on raining down repeat-cast ouch bombs. You have 50 mana, so they're basically out. (Krathis have buff rings, but I highly doubt you'll be able to twink your agi/wis/mana high enough to make a huge difference, and you don't need any more strength or endurance.)
Whirans and Drovians - Size plays a factor in levitate, fly, and ethereal. You'll have to cast at least Pav and up to have it effect you at all. (Not terrible for a Whiran, but good luck finding powerful enough components to eth.) Combine either of these two with thug, and you might be able to sneak up on and OHKO-sap anything in the game, so that's something.
Rukkians - As mentioned, this works well. Rukkians are buff-based melee fighters, so the 50 mana isn't a huge drag here - it just means it will take you a little longer to get spelled up initially, but once you are you're good to go. Won't be able to sleep/feeblemind/weaken anything, but that's not the primary M.O. of a Rukkian anyways. Fury, Armor, Stoneskin and the ability to easily wear heavy armor will make you a tank. Offense will still be a drag, but your strength helps make up for that. Strength isn't a terribly useful spell, I would think. I'm not sure what the range on it is, but you're so strong already that it probably isn't terribly significant.
Vivaduans - I've never thought of this one, honestly, but I bet it would be good. Same principal as Ruk - you'll have trouble calming/deafening/intoxicating stuff because of low wisdom, but with sanctuary and invuln you can essentially remain untouchable while your rain down 50+ hp hits. Probably pretty viable as a "spell up and go" meleer.

Yup. God bless that giant. That dudes a pimp as far as HG's go. There was another HG that stands out in Badassery, used to hang out with that dwarves Pip and Ava I think. He would regularly go out and kill horrors and Mekillots by shooting them a few times.

Henn was that badass of an HG who had visions of the drov gate. Wasn't he almost a preserver or something?

If Albie ever dies I think the game world would probably just break up and go home.

why not make albie a byn sarge already Because racism. It's the same reason Dargan never got promoted above where he did. Dude totally deserved it. But they chose to play a demihuman, and not one of the ones who's considered 'smart enough to be a good leader' (in Albie) or who was a dwarf (which is a lower cap than you think in some clans) in the legions. Eh. It sucks and it doesn't make any sense, but racism is rarely ACTUALLY logical. By rarely, I mean I have never seen it do that.

I dunno, making a half-giant a sarge seems like a really bad idea. Unless he was a sarge of a troop consisting only of HGs to keep them in line.
