Wildflower (on ISCABBS) was phenomenal (I forget his gypsy's name). He researched them, read books, everything there was to about gypsies. The name was Aryk.

I heard the gypsies have a silt submarine that automatically sifts and processes spice as it travels. They dine on silt sea cucumbers and raw silt horror steaks. They smoke as much spice as they want and lament about horta wine and spiced brandy. It's a pirate life but they don't care, they just want to numb the pain. Cue Nemo al Gologoni (or however they spell their names), captain of the Harmony's Undertow. If Sanvean was still staff, I'd believe it. I liked Sanvean. She was crazy, and had crazy favoritism, but she didn't seem compelled to fuck over other people. She'd just pamper her favorites and leave everyone else alone. What I'm trying to say is - she wasn't actively malevolent in any kind of organized fashion. That's vastly preferable to the rampant butt-fucking and black-listing of later regimes.

I think Sanvean was a great arbiter. She was the last one Arm had during my time frame once she perm banned me. Still I can remember countless times where I had issues with other staff and she would step in, arbitrate/meditate and I would be calm and go back to just playing normally until I ran into another avatar and got insta-gibbed and sent in yet another insult-laden drivel of emails.

That's the ruins of their first city, Kere. I guess Tyn Dashra is so completely destroyed there aren't even artifacts left to find. Sucks to be a gypsy, they should have known better than to be so awesome without their patron deity Sanvean around to defend them. It's the Atrium and noble houses that get the love now. Thanks Martin/HBO. Too bad that TV show about pirates wasn't more popular.

Wildflower (on ISCABBS) was phenomenal (I forget his gypsy's name). He researched them, read books, everything there was to about gypsies. If you can only read one book on gypsies, read "The Gypsies" by Jan Yoors (recommended to me by Wildflower). That will help you get the mindset you need. Are there gypsies in the game now? not that I have the karma, nor will they likely give me karma, but I'd be interested in starting up the legitimate gypsies some day Belya. The gypsy you're thinking of was Belya. He was played by Charlie Arnhold, who actually wrote the Zeina al'Kere docs with Sanvean. Her Whiran, Alkyone, was pretty instrumental in the whole Gypsy scene back then. Charlie was alright, but his mindset on Gypsies was pretty fucked. His dream was to have Armageddon basically be an entirely Gypsy-themed game. True Story: He and Sanvean once completely wrote an alternate version of Allanak, as it would have been in the game if their plan to free Verra (their deity who was imprisoned in a cage made of light underneath the city) had gone off as planned. It got fucked up due to player intervention, though. Back in the days when players could actually intervene on that sort of level. Anyway, that's some old history there, man. Old fucking history.

I appreciate your contribution of that little gem. No way anyone would ever manage to get it out even if it made sense but thanks anyways. Causing change on that sort of scale will never be allowed if I'm understanding things right(as Armageddon is now).
